Nice features, saves water

First HE washer we've had, still pretty new, but no problems and I'm pleased with how it conserves water and electricity.

Lousy venting system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really like this machine except for its lousy venting system. The problem is that not all the lint gets trapped by the lint filter inside the machine. A lot of lint gets around the filter and then ends up clogging the chamber that the filter fits into. I don't know how much of this lint that gets around the filter actually makes it all the way through the exhaust duct to the outside of the house, vs how much is just accumulating inside the chamber in the machine. Nevertheless, it is a pain to clean this accumulated lint out. I ended up buying a special long plastic tool, sore of like a long straw, which attached to my vacuum cleaner hose, which I can then stick down into the filter chamber to vacuum out all the lint. The other thing you will need to do this is a thin penlite flashlight, which you can jamb into the slot and shine ibto the chamber so you can see what you are doing. Very poor design. Disappointing.
Pros: easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great concept poor quality

Despite the rave reviews I was very dissapointed with the quality of the product. the quality of washing was unpredictable, sometimes it cleans and sometimes it doesn't.
The machine has stopped working at various times needing constant repair.
Expected more from LG

Horrible Water Hammer

I wanted to love this washer. It is nice looking and has great features. I also feel like it does a great job cleaning my clothes. However it creates horrible water hammer and continuing to use this washer will ultimately damage my pipes. Even with a purchased water arrestor my pipes are still banging. I have been told by LG to lower the water pressure in my home. This has never been an issue in the past with my prior HE front loader. With 5 people in my home I am unwilling to have everyone else suffer through lower water pressure so that our washing machine will not damage our pipes. I will just search for another washer. In searching the internet I see LG is aware that this is a known problem with their washers.

Dangerous!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just bought this house and used the washer and dryer (contractor bought new) for the first time. The washer vibrates like crazy, even after leveling several times. And the dryer is a hazard. It makes a strange noise then causes the lights in the mudroom to dim. I unplugged it. I offered to buy a different model from Lowes and LG, but they won't take this one back. Large corporations have just gotten billions in tax cuts, and I can't get safe equipment.

Your dryer should be on a dedicated circuit. Lights dimming during use are a sign that the circuit is shared. Until the dryer is put on a dedicated circuit we would recommend unplugging the device and not using it. ^CP

Great Features and Low Energy Costs

This washer is fast, efficient and VERY quiet. We have a second floor laundry closet central to our bedrooms and doing laundry after hours is never a problem. The load sensing technology utilizes the least amount of water and the ability to choose temperature and spin cycles is phenomenal!
