Excellent display, but no sound output

I really like the quality of this TV´s display.
Blacks and contrast are excellent, in my opinion the LG display in this price range has better color reproduction, but this Samsung display is good enough plus it has better blacks, contrast and viewing angles.
For me viewing angles and blacks was the selling point for choosing this TV over competing screens, because in real life scenarios one rarely sits at the optimal viewing angle.
The feature that really made me hesitate in buying this TV was the lack of sound outputs, had this feature be included in this set my decision to get it would have been extremely easy to make. In the end I bought it for it´s superior picture quality.
In order to get the best picture quality you should calibrate this Samsung TV, I used windows media center calibration options in order to do this, I highly recommend doing this in order to get the best picture quality from this TV.
This display is partially reflective, not as much as laptop displays of course but in a highly lit environment it can create unpleasant reflections. Not sure how much this can affect other people since I don´t have very bright lights, therefore I have no problems with that, but I do notice lots of reflections when the window in front of the display is partially open.
The display is a little bit thick but it´s actually quite light.
Channel surfing has an adequate speed, and I like the menu interface.
I cannot comment on the durability of the display since I have not had it for very long but it seems well built, by the way Samsung heavily warns about viewing lots of still images in this display including pictures and the black bars in recorded material with a different screen ratio. I´m not sure if this is something that applies to all LCD displays or only on this particular model and/or technology. So be warned if those are your planned uses for this TV screen.
By the way roku 2 XS owners should know that they can get analog sound output simultaneous to HDMI video output, that is how I solved the problem of having no sound output in the TV. For this either connect the included RCA cable to your roku or use a double end 3.5mm cable.

This set was easy to setup. Love the thin bezel(Frame) . It looks great on the Wall of my enclosed porch! It only weighs 20 lbs.!

i recently purchased this tv for my bedroom, it was relatively inexpensive, the picture is fantastic even without an hd converter. i replaced a smaller flatscreen with this model, and for the size, price and picture i think it's a great value. I also have a larger samsung in my living room and really trust the brand

Great Picture, Sound is decent if you adjust the audio settings yourself instead of the "standard" setting. I've seen others complain of low audio but adjust your settings and it will be just fine.
I do wish the USB jack was not on the back of the TV or perhaps mounted above the cable input jacks. I decided to use a 3' usb extender cable for easier access and it still works fine for playing media with a flash drive.
The USB playback is flawless with PC Video, my new TV plays AVi, MP4, MKV's without a hitch......
