Most important - The call quality is excellent. This is a great phone, #1. The voice recognition problems that plagued initial reviews are largely solved. Dictation for text and email is excellent with S-Voice. If you need top quality hands-free voice dialing (w/blu-tooth support): Get the Cyberon Voice Commander app and you will be all set. GPS works great using the google navigation app. 4G wi-fi hotspot is excellent as is USB tethering. Perfect size to use as a reader, with plenty of great reader apps to choose from. Love the lightweight feel. If you want it to feel more substantial, just snap on a back protector. Rear camera is very nice and full featured with excellent still and video support. Front screen camera is also handy. Love having expandable micro-sd memory and easily replaceable battery (2 big reasons I passed on the other 2 main competitors). MP3 player is plenty loud (I like to crank my tunes). It also communicates wirelessly, with bi-directional remote controls, over my LAN network with my Home Theatre; Streaming media to my Samsung 3D Plasma TV which is arced to my 7.2 surround system for audio playback. (I took off 1 star in value because the phone is short-sheeted in memory and processing power compared to its European version)
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, excellent voice recognition, replaceable battery, expandable micro-sd memory, wireless network media support, wi-fi hotspot, usb tethering support, great e-reader size/weight, great mp3 player, great gps navigation, good front/rear camera's
Cons: bloatware can't be removed, no-root access w/o voiding warranty, short-sheeted design compared to european model

Overall rating given is a 5. I've spent most of what seems to be two days straight tinkering with the phone. Not because I'm just past learning how to turn it on, but downloading apps and customizing it just the way I want it. Good stuff. If you've had any Android O/S type cellphone in the past, the learning curve for this one, won't be difficult. Now the only con, if you can see that way- the battery cover is on the flimsy side. You won't even notice it till your about to remove it for the first time, so be careful. Also, with phones that have a large screen area, please be careful if you like to place your cellphones in your pockets, I've heard of people breaking screens. Cellphones and keys don't mix either. While the glass on this phone is alot tougher then others, it's still not shatter/break proof. No phone is. Not a con, but still a warning. What I did to my cell is I added a cover and screen protector already. So when, I say when, I drop the phone- I'll have a less chance of anything happening. I recommend everyone to do the same-

After using iPhones for the last four years I needed a change and the Galaxy S3 is it! After about 3 weeks the verdict is in...it is fast, fast fast! I realize it's not the quad core offered everywhere else but the 2 Gig of ram seems to make up a lot of ground - at least at the moment. Not only is it very responsive, its huge screen's pictures/videos/games are sharp and it feels great in my hand. Call quality is superb too. While I'm still getting use to the interface differences of Andoid vs. IOS, it is still very intuitive and best of all - customizable.
My only complaints are that with the power saving turned off, the factory battery gives me just under 4 hours of hard use (i.e. - wifi, bluetooth, texting, email, videos etc.) Also, it could be brighter when on max bright - say when outside - however I typically keep those settings down for daily use.
If you're tired of the iPhone's one size fits all, maybe it's time to check out the Galaxy S3

Pretty nice for lift off

This device is pretty sweet. It is packed with many features, smooth, customizable, pretty much user friendly without the use of a manual.
I love that it has auto call rejection built in the software for those annoying phone calls, notification light, great speaker that is loud enough to hold long conversations, it's light, bright screen, the camera and video are pretty good so far (need to take more videos and pictures). I can connect it to my Mac and transfer files via USB cable and much more.
I love the size of it. Not Huge like a tablet but bigger than your average smartphone to see comfortably without glasses.

The battery isn't the best but it is somewhat of a mini-compute and turning certain features off or limiting them will cut down drainage plus there's a built in task manager, simply hold the physical button down. No, you can't delete most of the bloat ware, but you can disable it after uninstalling the updates on the apps.

So far I have been quite impressed with the new Galaxy S III. The hardware is fantastic and the phone looks great! The software could still use a little more refinement and uniformity between applications but I don't have any complaints really. Samsung has done a good job by differentiating with software instead of hardware tweaks like the original Galaxys. I especially love the Camera on this phone, so many options, and some of the best photos I have seen from phone camers! AT&T was able to deliver my pre-order on time and I have been loving the Samsung Galaxy S III ever since!

Too many features to name here. Have had the phone for a week and have no complaints yet. Best qualities are super fast processor and beautiful display. This phone should be cutting edge for some time.
