Most Amazing Phone I Have Ever Owned

The title says it all! I love this phone, though a bit pricey, it went far beyond my expectations! I have owned the Galaxy S, Galaxy S II and now the Galaxy S III ! Head and shoulders above any other phone i have ever used!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: price

Greatest Phone Ever!

I love this phone the only thing that I don't care for is when you go to hit the power button I always end up hitting the volume button, which is directly opposite the power button, at the same time.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: don't like where the power button is placed

Recent iPhone Convert

After becoming bored with iPhone after having 3G and 4 (wife has 4S), decided to plunge into Android with the Galaxy S III after iPhone 5 was nothing really new. Overall, very pleased to have made the switch.
The big improvements I'm finding in comparison to iPhone 4:
1) The big screen is fantastic. Very bright and I love the additional real estate
2) Hi def camera is outstanding. Not as much video warble as the iPhone 4 and great resolution
3) Size compared to 4 is positive. It's very thin and light and while bigger in the hand, it's functional for 6' average build guy (wife thinks it's way too big just fyi)
4) Control - the visibility into how the device is consuming power or app processes that are running is great for a gear head. A novice will not appreciate it though or maybe even be frustrated. This is just Android vs. iOS
5) 4G LTE - oh my... is reeeaaaaally fast compared to iPhone 4 and 4S.
6) Soft keys - didn't expect this, but I love the soft keys of Samsung over the single button with iPhone. The back button soft key is great and works throughout all the apps. On iPhone's little screen, hitting things like the browser back button sometimes is hard and especially hard single handed. But the back button soft key on Galaxy is in a perfect place and is way more convenient. I went back a week later to iPhone and found myself tapping the softkey locations and was bummed they weren't there. Nice.

Things I miss:
1) Lock screen notifications: it sounds simple, but the iOS feature where you can see text messages on your lock screen is a big hole IMHO for Android. There may be app store apps out there that solve it, but is a pain for me out of the box. You have to key in your password every time you receive a text. Hard for on the go people.
2) Sync: I never thought I'd appreciate iTunes, but now I do. The ability to easily sync one's music, photos and videos from PC/Mac is missing on Samsung/Android. Samsung offers an app called Kies, but it is horrible with frequent hangs and crashes.
3) Bloatware: Samsung & AT&T install lots of bloatware on the device that can only be hidden, not removed. I thought this was a thing of the past, but apparently only Steve Jobs was able to convince the wireless carriers that they shouldn't penalize their customers with their junky software. Samsung's bloatware isn't as bad as AT&T's, but still, why do I really need both the Google Play plus Samsung's S Suggest? Annoyed.
4) iTunes App Store: I'm moderately concerned about all the junk that is out there with Android. I didn't think I'd miss Apple's obsession with screening apps, but as a user, I don't want to think twice about bad software. Also, the Android apps are more expensive in general it seems.

All in all, big fan of the Galaxy S III so far and don't miss the iPhone at all. Very happy to have a new toy. From a user experience perspective, expect to spend hours tinkering with the Galaxy whereas with iPhone, you open the box and go. I still don't know if I have a PC sync option I can live with, but I'm storing less and less on my home computer these days so expecting I'll be ok. Really wish Kies wasn't garbage though.

I love the simplicity of this phone and the great features. I am not techno-savvy so the help functions were awesome. I use a credit card reader for my business and it synced up perfectly. I am also not big on downloading apps but the few I have used work great. Looking forward to the OS update soon!
