Simply a Fantastic Laptop

This laptop meets every requirement for a top of the line machine. It is sleek. It is light weight. It is sturdy. The screen is so nice it is almost too bright, and it is a perfect screen to use in direct sunlight. The keyboard and back-light are both very comfortable. An ambient sensor auto adjusts the back-light and the screen while on battery. The battery, on conservative power consumption settings, gets close to nine hours. As I am writing this review, 82% on the battery meter says 7hrs and 3mins. It is quite impressive.
There is one small issue. Out of the box the wifi signal was awful. Very, very slow speeds and a constantly oscillating link connection to the router not only ate up battery but had me thinking about sending this gorgeous machine back. There is an easy fix though:
Click on more power options. Click on Change power settings, and then click on advanced power settings. Scroll down to the Wireless Adapter Settings and open it. Then open the Power Saving Mode. There you will find two modes. One for Plugged in and one for On battery. The On battery mode is set at Maximum Power Saving. Ticking it up one level to Medium Power Saving changed the entire connectivity of the laptop. It is now both a stable and fast signal, and i daresay more battery efficient.
If you have the money, there is nothing better available than this laptop, and that includes, imo, the mac air and pro.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm very pleased with my new ultrabook computer. It's fast, the keyboard is well designed, and I got it at a great price given all that it can do. I've shown it to several of my friends, and they are so jealous with what a superior computer I have. Thanks Samsung, another one of your products has blown me away. I'm a Samsung brand guy for keeps now.
I love my laptop. I researched it extensively and decided it was worth the money for a long-term, next 3-5 year laptop (assuming that I can upgrade the RAM and 256 SSD). Everything you have read about the build quality and design is true. I was grinning from ear to ear until 1 week later, the touch pad acted up. It’s not sensitive, it was/ is uncontrollable: highlighting , selecting, moving things and not moving where I needed it to be. A reboot does NOT resolve this and I have not installed any 3rd party software. Currently, it has been considered a hardware issue with the pad. I am waiting for the part to have it serviced by Samsung. The slow WiFi stories are true. You need to simply amend the power settings. The speakers sound hollow and baseless. Using it at high levels vibrates the casing, producing an awful noise. The Samsung Update Manager tells me that updates I made, my it's recommendation, have not been updated and them asks me to update them again. After the update, to see if the driver,/ software have taken place and it always does, but the Manager still prompts me to do so. I can’t think of anything else. I had higher expectations for a pricey laptop.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, slim, battery life
Cons: Did not meet expectations, expensive, proprietary software, speakers, touchpad

I've had this laptop almost two weeks and am very happy with it. It's gorgeous and most of the features are excellent. The touchpad is a little too sensitive for me so I use a mouse and turn off the touchpad. The screen is very nice, the bootup speed is outstanding and the wake from sleep is essentially instantaneous. The solid state drive does add to the price but in my opinion it's worth it. I've seen reviews of earlier builds which noted that the key travel was shallow and it was easy to miss typing letters sporadically. I've not had those problems with this one. The USB 2.0 port is very tight against the power adapter connector and the latter needs to be removed when using an older USB 2.0 stick that is a little wide. I plan to use USB 3.0 accessories as much as possible anyway because USB 3.0 is amazingly faster.
This is a beautifully designed machine; it looks like it must have taken some ingenuity to make it so thin and light. There are a few touches of Mac-like features: the touchpad is very similar and it has a launcher similar to the Mac and most especially the design. It's nice to see some good features of the Mac turn up in PCs.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, beautiful, very fast startup
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything about this laptop screams premium, from the box it came in to the build quality. The boot time and sleep resume time is awesome. Screen looks great (at full brightness) and keyboard chicklet style keys are sensitive and very usable. Feels light for the size. And did I mention already .. looks smoking hot sexy. The key back lighting could be a little brighter. I could connect to my old 802.11g router (almost 7 years old) though but I solved that by upgrading to a new 802.11n router.
