I purchased this phone nearly 3 weeks ago and didn't realize what the big deal was all about with the Galaxy S3. I was very curious about it and pleased to say that it was definitely the best purchase I have made in time for the holiday season. Lots of younger buyers, and some older, will really enjoy this phone.
Design - The design is, without a doubt, sleek and sexy. It comes in a small variety of colors (I'm enjoying the blue one!). My tiny gripe is how cheap the battery cover feels after getting it off.
Features - This baby is already loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and was recently updated to 4.1 Jelly Bean. It's displayed in glorious 720p with vivid color. Samsung's UI is quite impressive, friendly, and very efficient. One feature I enjoy in the contacts is sliding the contact name to the left will call them and sliding to the right will allow you to text them. The camera is loaded with features as well and shoots 1080p video. Samsung's Apps hub is loaded with goodies such as their Photo Editor, which has some wonderful effects and frames. Flipboard is an excellent news hub and presented with nice aesthetics. I also appreciate the array of media compatibility. It supports the xVid and DivX formats and AC3 audio.
Performance - With a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon and 2GB ram, this phone is very responsive and fluid. The camera shutter on this phone is fast and a good example of this is using the burst shot feature. 4G LTE in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is superbly fast. I easily hit speeds of 15Mbps and have seen speeds at nearly 30Mbps in some areas.
Value - There is so much to appreciate with this phone. It's a phone that is accepted by many different audiences and hands-down the best phone to date. If I was you, I would go play with one... now!
