I have owned a few compact high end cameras to capture walk about photo opps. My spouse enjoys her Sony RX with a 24-70 lens, its image quality impressing me. Having decided to upgrade my compact, choose the RX100 for it longer lens. Very satisfied with the image quality and its intuitive operating system.

I take this camera wherever I go, especially hiking. No way am I about to bring 30 pounds of camera gear to a 6-hour hike. Plus, especially during this pandemic, it's important to use a small camera around the city. So many people are getting robbed in the streets.
I learned to use this camera by reading DK's Beginner's Photography Guide. Now, the camera is so easy to use that I even started using the Manual setting instead of automatic. I've included some of my fav. photos from this camera. Enjoy!

I went from an old Nikon DSLR to this unit and I am impressed with the results.
My change was because I didn't have the money to upgrade my DSLR with the lenses I wanted so I thought I'd give this pocketable camera a whirl until I am ready for the upgrade. I shoot in Aperture and Shutter Priority modes mainly, so I am happy with the flexibility of this little guy.
The quality of shots is also really good so I think I have a keeper.

I bought this camera 4 months ago. I was very satisfied and took stunning pictures with it. To my bad luck I mistakenly dropped the camera once. The edge of the viewfinder got misshaped which caused that I cant open the viewfinder and the camera constantly monitors that its open (viewfinder starts working). Its still under the one year warranty. I hope to contact Sony soon and see what's my further steps.

My DSC-RX100M3 has been a workhorse for the past three years--I bought it for wide angle and low-light uses, and it has been great in those respects--but in the past year the C/Delete button has started triggering the recording function (incredibly annoying) and the software stopped working (terrible software, but the only way to transfer files from the camera via wifi). There have been no firmware updates while I've had the camera, it's out of warranty, etc. Sony should do more to stand by their products.
