Great Smart phone.

Phone has a bit of a problem dropping calls. Not sure if it is when it is switching from 4G to 3G. Happend twice the other day when I was only a mile or two from a US cellular tower. Other than that it is great. Wish they could improve the reception as that is why you get a phone. Seems to be a problem with a lot of customers.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: reception at times.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Phone kept turning on and draining battery. Wireless provider tried to solve the problem but no use. Glad I've upgraded to the Galaxy III. Also, the display is almost impossible to read in bright daylight. What good is that?
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good phone. Just keeps damaging my SD Card... PIMA

I love the big screen, quick processor, and display. Don't like how it corrupts my external SD card monthly somehow... and it seems that it almost constantly jumps from 4G LTE to 3G to 1X and so on. Also would like a longer battery life. Ever power saver mode sucks battery pretty rapidly. But by far the best Samsung I've had in my pocket to date.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, great performance
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations, corrupts external sd card often

my first smartphone

I am a longtime computer scientist who saw no use for a computer in my pocket. Finally, it seemed a reasonable thing to learn to use. For those thinking about a new phone, the first thing I'd say is that you might as well get the best one you can because the upfront cost is small compared to what you pay for the phone over two years contract. Second, you want one with an easy interface to learn. This one has that although some details are hard to find without guidance. I was surprised how accurate the voice recognition is without any training at all. The form factor of the S III is very easy to get along with: it fits in a shirt pocket easily and it's so light you hardly know it's there until it rings. It looks nice. I've downloaded only about ten apps and they seem to work as advertised. The GPS is very accurate. As a phone, it works fine even if there is only one bar reception. I look forward to traveling with it. I charge it every night even though I use a power management mode supplied with the phone.

Totally worth all the hype and great reviews..but.....

A totally great device. Ive owned android phones since early 2010, and I've used everything from low to high end, and kn most ways this is the very best phone of them all. However, I do have a couple issues. The one big one is fairly common, which is reception, which many people seem to have. The other big disappointment is the fact that there are no screen widget for music controls. This is a big turnoff for me, as I use my phone for an mp3 player everyday, and I like not having to unlock my phone simply to change songs.. also I wouldve preferred googles default keyboard and segtings as they are loads betted then sa.sungs. Now, on to the good, pbone has 1.5gb of available RAM, and a fast processer, which means it never really slows down or lags. Camera is of decent quality and sports plenty of features. I also enjoy the picture in picture mode that allows videos played in the native player to play on top of other apps, it can be very useful at times. Ovef all a great phone, and price can be pretty low with good sales that make it better then any midrange phone at the same price. Again tho, stock samsung keyboard is horrible, and some sort of replacement keyboard is almost required.

Overall a very good device

The "phone" has many features. Sometimes it does become hectic trying to figure out a process, but usually can just go back start over and get the project complete.

Everything works great, have had it about a month, and have had no issues up to date. This phone actually helped my decision on buying a Samsung 50" LED Smart TV.

Lots of Great Features - Not so Great Phone Reception

I love the features that come on this phone - unfortunately - the phone reception is pretty poor unless you're sitting right beside a tower. I've noticed it particularly since it upgraded to Jelly Bean - now I have poor reception, data is roaming too much, and it shuts itself off about once a week - have to take battery out and put it back in to get it to come on.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: shuts down unexpectedlyl, poor phone reception, data roaming a lot
