Awesome Wireless Headset
on February 13, 2014
Posted by: DigitalShrapnel
This is a great wireless headset solution for PS3 gamers and PC alike. The fact that you can use it with most 3.5mm audio jack devices makes it quite versatile. Looks great, the sound quality is excellent, and you wont get as much performance for the price with most other wireless headsets.
The build quality is decent enough if you take care of it, and its quite comfortable too. A possible downside would be battery life (4-6 hours), but this shouldn't be a problem for most people.
Best $140 I've spent in ages.

Better headsets available
on January 13, 2014

This headset is very nice and works great, but it's nothing compared to the other headsets out there for the same price. Just spend an extra $30 and get the skullcandy PLYR 1 gaming headset. It's a thousand times better than this one, definitely worth the price difference.

I got this for Christmas, Charged and connected up right away. Once I noticed the battery had one bar I plugged unit back in and now it will not pair with PS3. I tried to reset and repair. No Luck.. Hopefully I get something better to troubleshoot and get it to pair easier.
What's great about it: sounds great
What's not so great: Pairing is a pain

EXTRAORDINARY TABLET W/ FULL RANGE OF ACCESSORIES
on June 29, 2014
Posted by: SuperSonyCustomer
The first thing I want to say is that this tablet does, in fact, offer a wide range of accessories, including an incredibly thin BT keyboard (BKB10). I can personally attest to this because I purchased one from the Sony Online store. I also purchased the adjustable kickstand cover (SCR12B), that snugly fits the X2 perfectly, with a magnetic flap on top to keep the case firmly shut.
I do admit that when I purchased these products I assumed that they would fit together to form a keyboard case, as Sony does display such a combination keyboard case on another one of their sites, along with several other accessories apparently not yet available, at least in North America. That product is apparently called the BKC50, and as far as I can tell from the promotional photos on that site it is simply an SCR12 case modified to securely hold the BKB10 BT keyboard, (which is removable to be the stand alone BKB10 keyboard it is), and packaged as a single product.
I was slightly disappointed that my case did not, in fact, have the ability to attach to the keyboard. But it was only a slight disappointment. After all, the case w/o the attached KB, (even though the BT KB is shockingly slim; literally about the height of 4 stacked credit cards & weighing roughly the equivalent of a PS3 game controller) is thinner, lighter & slightly more portable. I also realized that I don't have to pop the KB out of the case every time I want to pair it with a different device, e.g. Smartphone. Finally, the bottom line is that it's really not all that inconvenient to have to carry the KB & case w/tablet separately. In fact, sometimes I'm glad that they're entirely independent because otherwise I would worry that the KB would somehow damage the Xperia screen, thus defeating the purpose of the case to begin with.
All of that said, I get it. It's cool to have a keyboard case in one and Sony should try to bring that BKC50 product to NA asap. But don't let that be a deal breaker for this amazing device.
I intended for this review to also cover the technical capabilities of the Z2, but I've already ramble on so much about the case & KB I think I'll have to write about that in a separate review.
The take away message for this review is:
- The Z2 does have an available BT KB - an incredibly thin, compact BT keyboard. Model BKB10.
- The Z2 has a sophisticated, stylish dedicated case. Model SCR12
- A host of new, as of yet unavailable, enticing accessories that will make your Z2 even more of a technological joy and showoff. Did I mention the water resistant BT remote that can also act as a reciever for VoIP calls? Looks really cool.
- Most importantly, the Z2 is virtually a brand new device. A quite unique tablet device in my opinion that is superior to any other for content consumption, e.g. the sometimes criticized landscape dimensions are, in fact, much more accurate for things like reading magazines and watching films than other more portrait dimensioned devices.
- Give Sony a little time to roll out its full compliment of accessories for this impressive device. I believe it will be worth the wait.

Worked Out All According to Plan
on September 23, 2014

Short story:
Did it's job, still usable after almost a year, beautiful sound to my ears, wonderful for gaming and video watching on PS3, usable on my laptop (Linux OS even!).
Long story:
My dilemma was I live in a house with many people, and I am only able to game/watch videos at night once everyone is sleeping. There's no way I wanted to game with no sound at all and other wireless headsets set you back at a price that you can practically buy a PS4 for the same amount. That's when I ran into this baby.....and boy did it solve my problem with flying colors. Other reviews may have pointed all the obvious and small details so I'll just throw in an oddball plus. As mentioned in the short story, this thing works like a charm on my laptop running on Linux Mint. Just plug the dongle in the USB port and voila! Instant audio at my disposal. I mainly use it on my PS3 and laptop, and I have not run into any issues to it yet. It's been almost a year and everything is still in top top shape....granted I don't toss it around in rage or abuse it on some other way. The worst I do is lie on the side of my head while it's still on, but no problems have happened. Only real downside I would mention is the battery life, when used consistently straight in one sitting, is about 3-4 hours. This is easily solved by having an adapter plugged in a nearby outlet with a long enough cord to charge it while being used.
I have never been happier with wearing a headset in my life. Thanks Sony!

Design Not Up to Sony Standards
on November 7, 2014
Posted by: Online52
Really like the sound quality and the versatility but the design is not up to Sony standards. Stress cracks became visible near ear phones on the head bracket after only about six month use. Repaired with epoxy. Does not look good but... Battery needs to be be recharged after about 1 hour of usage. I will purchase again after design changes...
