Unnecessarily flawed

Unfortunately I can only give this product a qualified recommendation. It won't clean one of our rooms because the carpet is a short pile Persian with a design on a black background. The background trips the cliff sensor. There is no need for a cliff sensor in this room which has a door that can be closed so pressing a button that disables the cliff sensor until the robot finishes the room would solve the problem, but there is no such option. Otherwise the robot does a reasonable job of cleaning. It's random cleaning algorithm misses patches, and it occasionally wedges itself under things, but there are ways to adapt and get a satisfactory job that requires little user intervention.

Cons: Misses Spots, can't disable cliff sensor, cliff sensor trips on black short pile carpet.

We love this product, I say its a little noisy but all vacuums are, at least this way you can turn it on and go out or head to bed! I love that I can put this on go to bed and wake up in the morning to a clean floor. For me if the floors are clean the house feels cleaner! Its super easy to set-up, use & clean! We have ours about a month and no issues at all. The only issue I have is I can't seem to register it the iRobot website.

It does a very effective job of cleaning dog hair, mulch, de-icer salt, dirt, leaves, and everything else. It gets under furniture I've never cleaned under. It crawls up over thick throw rugs with ease. It packs the dirt in so I don't have to empty it often. It does get stuck under a couple pieces of furniture, the little electronic wall thing keeps it out most of the time. It's even pushed boxes around the floor and cleaned where they were sitting. I have it programmed to run every other day while I'm gone. The house stays clean. It spits out things it finds under furniture. I find them in the middle of the floor. It's never clogged.

This is a pretty impressive gadget. My one concern is that once in a while it will miss a spot (or two). For families or pet owners, probably a model a step-up from this would work more effetively
