I thought we had a pretty clean house. I was wrong ! This unit cleaned under the beds,dressers,bedside tables,coffee tables,sofas,chairs, and everywhere else that we never vacuum,and it was amazing how much dust and other "stuff" it picked up. We don't have even have pets in the house and I've emptied a FULL bin multiple times in 3 days. It's nice to just put it in a room and close the door behind it and let it do it's thing for 30 mins or so. We're amazed at how much dust and carpet fibers this thing has picked up over the past couple of days.I can't comment on the the long term durability of this unit yet, but on my first impression, this thing rocks!!! The brushes do need to be cleaned of long hairs occasionally, but overall I couldn't be more happy with the purchase. It is outstanding on hardwood and tile floors and does a pretty good job on thick carpet. If this unit continues to perform like it has initially, we'll never be without one again.

Bought the roomba 650 for Christmas present does great job we have dogs with hardwood floors picks up daily dirt and hair great my wife loves it

we program the 650 to run everyday because we have 2 small dogs and have found that it MUST be cleaned EVERYDAY,hair gets caught up in the axles and prevents the unit from working unless the hair is removed.I find this troublesome especially since this particular unit says it's for homes with pets

We own 8 birds and so we have been looking at getting something that will help spot clean for us, as our actual vacuum cleaner is on it's last legs and is very heavy. (I have nerve damage in my arms.) The Roomba 650 was recommended for us due to it's features, efficiency and price. We live upstairs, so we needed a bot that had cliff sensors, but wasn't too expensive and so far it's been a godsend! After only two days of using it we are seeing the benefits already. It was very easy to set up, all we had to do was remove the battery label and dock it to charge overnight, program in the schedule by only pressing the schedule button and altering the times (VERY easy) and away he went! Waking up, uncovering our feathered kids and not having to deal with seed and other mess on the bottom of our feet is amazing and the carpets feel fresher and nicer underfoot, which is an added bonus. The only thing is that he does get stuck from time to time and he misses the odd bit here and there, but he gets to it with a couple of nudges. He's not too loud, the birds aren't too bothered by him and he's very easy to clean. (Just try to remember to pick up things before he starts wandering around. Today he ate my earbuds and he got angry with me for picking him up to retrieve them.)

I was sweeping the floor while on the phone to iRobot. I don't usually sweep anymore, but my Roomba was broken. Its cliff sensors had failed just a month outside of warranty. After connecting to a wonderful lady named Kim, she walked me through some simple checks and then put me on hold. I presume she was asking a supervisor for permission to replace my robot because when she got back, she said iRobot would send the basic robot, no accessories, to replace my broken robot. Great phone service, I love my Roomba, and I highly recommend buying from iRobot.

Great for picking up pet hair! After using it for a year now, I have learned the best way to use the roomba. The vacuum does not keep the same route so I have learned to limit the space each day for my 3 bedroom home for best results. I use the provided stopper so the vacuum only cleans certain areas. One day, it cleans my kitchen and family room, next day, it cleans the dining room, living room, and hallway, and the final day, it cleans the bedrooms. Limiting the amount of space the roomba covers everyday means I have to pull out the big vacuum less!
Pros: Easy To Install, Easy To Use, Extends Functionality, Inconspicuous Design, Increases Performance

LOVE my Roombas, but...

I use the product throughout the week on a daily basis. and do my primary regular vacuuming on the weekend. I actually expected it to perform better than my older pet model, but this one came with an extremely small bin with a filter that takes up most of the bin. THEY SHOULD COME WITH a high-capacity bin as well!! I happened to be home oneday when it first ran, and the darn thing needed to have the bin dumped about 6-7 times in the first 45 minutes!!! I find this unacceptable. Also, it's CONSTANTLY getting stuck under furniture I wouldn't think it would, so I would recommend that IROBOT include the topside glue-on bumper nipple to help keep it from getting stuck. 9 times out of 10 when I get home from work, it's either done a very bad job of vacuuming, or it's stuck somewhere once again. If I use the Spot feature, it runs around in circles and drags hair along it's outer edges -- very unsightly and inefficient. BTW The paper that comes with replacement side brushs show you're getting a 5-arm side brush, when it fact it's only 3-arm -- I feel it should have more arms to help improve efficiency. My older model works much better after I replaced the motor with a high performance one, and I bought a new battery for it and it's now outperforming this one! The new one sounds quieter, and the motor sounds more powerful but it just doesn't live up to reasonable expectations. I feel that IROBOT should read and try to heed repeated feedback that it's getting on a few of it's models. Good product, but needs some tweaking to make it work as it should.

Cons: Eg Emptied 7xhour, Expected Better, Freq Emptying Of Binhour, Needs Bigger Bin, Trapped Freq Under Furn

We loved the scheduling function. With two cats and a dog, we needed frequent cleaning to fight the fur problem. After about a year of use it started going through batteries like crazy. Now it's not worth the expense to keep buying new ones.
