I have wanted a Roomba for years, finally got one for Christmas! It's very easy to program and set up, 5 minutes, tops. Vacuums very well! I haven't had to get out my larger vacuum yet, except to do stairs......iRobot needs to invent a Climba next! If we put down laminate, I will definitely purchase a Scooba next! Roomba is tough as nails, my grand daughter decided to stand on it, and it wasn't phased. It has gotten stuck under a couple pieces of furniture, when it does, it will automatically shut off. Not a problem really....except when I don't it on it's dock, it's like loosing a pet! Lol. I had to chuckle at a previous review that stated that all you want to do at first is watch Roomba while it's cleaning! We did the same thing! Lol! Thanks iRobot for this little genius!
Pros: Easy To Install, Easy To Use, Reliable, Tough as nails, Worth its weight in gold!
Cons: Hasn't gotten stuck a couple times, not a prob

My brother raved about the Roomba, then I finally gave in and purchased one. I thought it was a gimmick but boy was I wrong. This device is amazing, it REALLY DOES vacuum well, and without lifting a finger. I simply can't clean the floor as well with a regular vacuum. Just when I think the floor is clean, Roomba does its thing and the bin is filled with dust and debris. Don't even think about it, GET ONE TODAY! You won't regret it!

Love my new Roomba 650. It's great for for cat hair, and so easy to use. When my Roomba 400 series died I got this new model. It is quiet and does a great job. I goes under the bed and over cords without a problem. No work involved except emptying the bin and removing cat hair from the brushes.

I absolutely love my Roombie! I love her so much I bought a second one for my pet rescue. I have a foster house for rescued animals and it has its own Roombie to keep things clean. None of the animals are afraid of it and it gets the job done. I have housekeepers that come twice a month and since getting the Roomba, they are much happier too! They can definitely tell a difference in the cleanliness of my house. Less work for them. Sometimes Roombie gets a little confused and works the same area back-and-forth and a few times she's been trapped in my half bathroom but other than that, I have no complaints and would highly recommend this unit. I can't remember the last time I have had to vacuum my house.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time

german shepherd owners be aware: works with some preparation

I have 2 cats and a German Shepherd. When people say German Shepherds shed a lot, they aren't exaggerating in the least. in order to keep my floors from having layers of dog hair I have to sweep every day. If I skip even 1 day I will have piles of hair along the floor. Anyway. I initially purchased this because, due to severe lupus, I am not physically able to sweep every day like I used to. I figured a roomba would be the perfect solution. The first day I had run it I had neglected to sweep for 3 days due to painful lupus flare-ups. So after giving the roomba the initial task of tackling that much german shepherd hair it was unable to finish the . job. My husband went around and picked up the 3 days worth of dog hair, leaving the rest of the debris to our roomba to take care of, and it performed well. Now we just keep it programmed to sweep once a day in the evening and it's fine. Only other complaint is that it usually does not get all of our kitchen, so I have to pick it up after it's swept the dining room and living room, then place it in the kitchen to do that job too. I know that this model is not a multiple room model, but I was expecting the roomba to read my kitchen, living room, and dining room as all one room since I have an open floor model and none of those rooms are really separate from one another. Aside from the limits to how much pet hair it can pick up, and me having to pick it up and then place it in the kitchen myself instead it doing so by itself, I can't complain. It beats me having to sweep the floor every day while battling the pain lupus brings. It does exactly as promised; picks up debris. If you do have a heavy shedding pet, know that it isn't fully up to the challenge of picking up gobs of German Shepherd hair (which is fair considering sweeping robots are still relatively new. The tech is just in the beginning stages). Before 1st time use, manually sweep. Wish I knew how it is with cat litter; afraid 2 try. Can anyone tell me?

iRobot - More power to you. Love the Roomba. Got a 650 through a friend over to India and I know its the best decision ever made. Schedule it thrice a week, need about 2 cycles for our pretty large home ~ 2200 sqft of linoleum and tile..Use, function and maintenance are all ideal and never disappoints you. Love how smartly this thing works, rocker chairs or strewn fibre, this awesome device deals with each thing like a human would. This seems to be the only thing that managed to impress my cleanliness-freak, big-critic mom :). She agrees it has very high cleaning standards! Charges real quick and docks so well. Scheduling [in CST], virtual wall detection is just perfect! Little issues - it auto-docks on its base only when it's in that specific room; extra-light dust gets thrown back - cobweb stuff.. although collects it back in later rounds.. and doesn't detect it as 'dirt' to blink-blue; once caught a transparent, light plastic lid under its wheels and lost its navigation - kept circling the same spot. Got on a metal leg of our grinder [which it usually avoids] and voice-alerted for help. As precaution, do not use water for cleaning any module.. Hoping iRobot equips scooba with dock [dock from any room?] and schedule/auto-charge features as well, waiting to buy one soon. Would be good if there were some iPad apps for roomba & scooba that are bluetooth based to enhance existing features or something..
