Where have you been all my life, Roomba!

I can't believe how wonderful my Roomba is! Our floors have never been so clean. It is truly amazing how close it cleans to the walls. The sensors are amazing. When it comes back to go back over an area, if it has previously bumped into something it remembers it and approaches slowly and bumps into it gently the second time. Amazing. We have two dogs who shed and keeping up was always a challenge. Now, our floors are constantly clean. I am so impressed at how easy it is to empty the collection bin. Open the door and the debris slides out easily every time. Also, my Roomba makes its own tools! It wove a new brush for itself on the rotating brush tool! I LOVE MY ROOMBA!

Since I had a life changing accident a year and a half ago, which limited my ability to keep my house clean and with two dogs that shed, the decision to buy was the best ever! I have programmed it to clean every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon and am amazed at how long it can go on cleaning. The main floor of my house is 2400 square feet - all slate and hardwood and it cleans and cleans and just keeps going. Sometimes it gets stuck under the sofa but that is a minor thing. I am now thinking about buying the mopping model.

Like all Roombas, they do clean effectively, sometimes better than most uprights (but Kirby). If you are expecting a mapping system like that of Neato, you won't get it. It makes its way around by bumping into things. However, many people make it sound like it slams into your furniture, they're full of it. It softly taps and turns. The beater brush (the rubber one) does have a knack for getting out dust, but after usually a month, it starts to tear up. Both brushes do need cleaned every so often because of hair. Either yours, or your pets. It does clean up a lot actually. One of the tests I run on all of my vacs, Kirby, Dyson, everything, is vacuuming up 50g of sugar and steel BBs. After 2 passes, most of it was cleaned up, with the exception of 5 BBs. It's also durable. My Roombas have sucked up bolts and screws and a bunch of other junk. The sweeper arm on the left side is perfect for edges, which is good because the brushes are exactly 96mm away from the wall. Sometimes I'll vacuum with my Dyson and I let my Roomba run after I vacuum just to see what I missed. (Dyson is a piece of junk anyway. A Kirby paired with a Roomba is unstoppable.) My only gripes are 1: it's not too good looking, especially with the yellow ring. And 2: It will not clean anything with a clearance of less than 3.6 inches. In other words, you need to raise your furniture and chairs. One more thing. Electric cords. It doesn't like them. Pick them up. All in all, the 650 is a great vacuum, but it won't replace an upright like a Kirby.

I have had to purchase four because each quit working.We keep each one clean and we take good care of each one.

Expensive and poor life.

Too short a life. Have had three and all have died as the computer went bad on each after three years. It costs, with normal repairs each year about $175.00 a year to own one. I am going to go back to a regular sweeper because of the constant repairs and replacement.

I've had Nancy since yesterday, and she is a Godsend! I live with a dog and cat in a big house, and I found that if I didn't vacuum at least once a wk, there would be dust bunnies everywhere and my boyfriend would get asthma attacks after coming over. I work long hours and am busy, and vacuuming the big house takes forever! I needed Nancy in my life. Read the reviews and instructions before starting her up, and everything has been fine. I picked up chairs and cords for her. She goes above and beyond by going under the bed and under furniture that I couldn't get to with my vacuum. She does amazing on my hardwood floors! Emptying the bin and cleaning the brushes takes a bit of work, but I'm doing it every time so Nancy lives longer. She gently bumps into walls and furniture without scratching them. My dog and cat were just curious about her. My cat hisses at the regular vacuum, so this makes me happy that he goes about his day while Nancy goes about hers. I would recommend to all!
