I would only recommend this product if you don't have carpet. I would use it more if it didn't get stuck in the same area all the time, I have to move it all the time
Pros: Easy To Empty, Lightweight, Powerful/Good Suction
Cons: Unreliable, We Have A Geometrically

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and a large open floor plan with wooden floors on the main level. The thing I love most about the Roomba is that I can turn it on, let it do its thing, and work on something else. It saves me a lot of time. It is effective in picking up most of the pet hair and debris, but it does miss some spots. I don't think it is the best idea to have it as your only vacuum. I have hose vacuum that I use occasionally as well. It works best in smaller rooms, so I section off my open floor plan. I move the little things out of its way and let it do one section as a time, then move it to another section. I bought an additional laser thing (they call it a virtual wall) to keep it out of an area (one came with it so now I have two). I usually have to empty the bin once in the middle of cleaning a room, but that says to me that I should be doing it more often. It's not a fault of the Roomba. The only major issue I had was that it fell down the stairs the first time I used it. It has a sensor that is supposed to keep it from doing that, but apparently if failed. I did not break when it fell down 8 hardwood stairs! Now I just keep it away from the stairs with some sort of little barrier. It is very easy to clean. The parts that can be removed are coded yellow so you know exactly what you can do to clean the brushes, wheels and bin. Sometimes I'm surprised at how "stupid" it can be. It can take several (30 maybe) for it to figure out how to get out of a tight spot, but it almost always figures it out, so I just don't watch. Maybe the higher end ones are "smarter" but this one works great for us. Even my husband will fire up the Roomba when the floors get bad. ;)
Pros: Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time
Cons: Misses Spots

I was very disappointed with the 650. I previously had an older version that had the lighthouses so it would clean one room and then move onto the next. The 650 comes with one virtual wall which means the device just wanders around the house. On the plus side, I will say it does clean very well; and it does seem to spend more time in rooms that are dirtier (i.e., the room with the cats' litter box). On the negative side. There is no guarantee it will do the entire house. Even if battery power is not an issue, since it wanders aimlessly it's very possible some rooms will be cleaned maybe once a week. Also, when returning to the dock, it detects the dock, then proceeds to turn in circles several times and then goes about cleaning as usual. It may detect the dock again, but again it just turns in circles: one way and then the other. Once since I've had it, it made it to the dock. The others time I get tired of watching it turn in circles, so just pick it up, empty the bin and put it on the dock myself. If I had know the 650 could not use the lighthouses, I would not have purchased it. It seems they want you to purchase the most expensive device in order to be able to use lighthouses.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient, Lightweight
Cons: Noisy, Poor Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really do love my Roomba 650, it does a great job cleaning when it doesn't get stuck either under the couch or rug (light layered rugs). We use to run it 4-5 times a week but we constantly came home to it either trapped in a closet with some sort of fabric/iPhone charger tangled in the cleaning head or it trapped in a room where it circled until the battery ran out because it closed the door on itself. I wish there was an option to upgrade the cleaning head to the non-tangle ones that higher end models have. I think if I knew that it would get wrapped up in things so often, I probably would have spent a little more money and got a nicer model with the new tracking system and tangle free cleaner. All in all, it still sweeps up more than I do when Im sitting on the couch.
Pros: Easy To Install, Easy To Use
Cons: Gets Stuck/Tangled, Loud, Skips Rooms Sometimes

It does have great use, but it misses spots, has a small bin, and the instructions are easy and understandable, but it just tells you that you have a to clean everything after each use. But easy to use, I just with the app worked with all models!
Pros: Cleans Under Furniture, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time
Cons: Long Charge Time, Misses Spots, Small Debris Bin

if it's used only once a week, does it need to be left plugged in/docked all the time? can you leave it turned off for a week without removing the batteries?
Pros: Easy To Use, Efficient, Good Power Output, Simple Instructions

This product was really easy to use. I don't have to worry about vacuuming when I'm doing other chores. The setup schedule to vacum was really easy and its just make things more easier and my house is always clean. Althought sometime I left phone charger by the wall it can suck it in a part of the end but the thing is it will stop and tell you there's an error then you fix it and it will go on its way to vacuum. My kids and I love this i robot nothing can be more easier.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Easy To Use, Easy To Clean, Hassle Free Operation
Cons: Small Debris Bin
