This review updates my review from May 2015. Yes, Ruby still works well. Ruby frequently gets caught under a chair, a futon or a chest, all of which have areas which are lower than about 3.5 ". Chairs and table legs are a challenge sometimes, particularly the dining room table with the chairs pushed up under the table. Another virtual wall might help in room to room navigation. Yes, you do have to keep charging and headset cords out of the way. Having said what some may view as very negative, we continue to be surprised how much dirt Ruby manages to find day after day.

For a household that never finds time to vacuum, Roomba is the answer! We are amazed at how much debris we dump daily. Occasionally Roomba disappears. We actually find it quite entertaining to discover that it tried to swallow up someone's sock or underwear left under the bed but shut down when it determined it could not. It is teaching members of the family to pick up things off the floor! We have hardwood floors throughout the house, so Roomba is very effective. It nagivates over the throw or area rugs well, even those with fringe.

I cannot imagine life without Roomba. I've had various models over the last 8 years and have to say this model seems to be the best all-around. It's reliable, cleans well, large dust bin and able to schedule. We have one old yellow lab that sheds constantly, and 2 cats one of which is a Maine Coon cat; so needless to say we have a lot of pet hair. Moe is scheduled to run every morning around 4am so when I get up at 6am, my kitchen, dining and living room is clean; it is the best way to start my day. I clean the dust bin and brushes daily and am always amazed at how much dirt/hair/stuff he picks up! It's also good in that it promotes good cleaning habits, my 5 year old learned early on that she needs to pick up all her toys every night before bed so Moe doesn't get them. My experience with irobot's customer service has always been hassle free. The only way they could improve this product is to extend the warranty beyond a year; I've had a couple that "died" after 1-1/2 to 2 years of use, which is the reason for 4 stars not 5.

Ro-Berta is more reliable than my husband or a cleaning service! Very easy to set up the scheduling feature - I work from home so I just have it run at night. Now I don't have to worry about a vacum running while I'm on conference calls. We have tile, hardwood & carpet, this thing cleans every inch and gets all the pet hair left by my Bull Terrier, Welch Corgi and the cat. I even take her to my friends house once a week to clean her 1200 sq ft of hardwood while we go out to dinner, to the beach or shopping. I can't imagine life without her - this is not a gadget but a real tool that saves me time and effort for the other things in life - like Shopping LOL!

Roomba is a must-have for pet owners! I have a black lab that constantly sheds. I was losing my mind trying to sweep up those coarse little dog hairs on a daily basis. Now all I have to do is press the clean button on Zoila, put my feet up, and relax. I love her. :)

Amazing

We bought the Romba three weeks ago and it works great. It picks up pet hair, debris and dust amazingly well. We set it up to work at night when we are asleep and it is quiet enough to do so. We have a large house so we rotate the area that it services using the virtual wall. It gets hung up every once in a while but not enough to be a concern. Over all it has been a great addition to our home. Our pets don't mind it at all.

Great for hair

Only had this a couple of days ago, but so far not bad. It has a tendency to get stuck between my kitchen and dining room then starts looking for the dock. It does not transition rooms well. if it makes it to another room it only cleans a free spots then leaves. It's almost like my home is too "cluttered" with furniture for it to work right. I do have to say that where it does clean it cleans WELL. I have 3 cats, a husband, a son, constant visitors, and live in dusty West Texas. I have scheduled it to clean daily and I empty it when it is done. Every day it is completely full with hair, fur, and dirt. It fits under my couch, bed, counters, and table easily. Would definitely recommend to a friend despite its flaws.
