Why did I wait!

I've put off buying a Roomba because I was afraid that it would not work, I read all the reviews and let those with 1 Star give me to pause. My parents have had a Roomba for the last 13 years and use it a couple of days a week and are always going on how they love it. They have had to replace the battery 3 times and the brush's twice during that time. I should have listened to them. I got the 650 as a gift to my wife as we have 4 dogs. Setting up the Roomba was easy but getting the area in which you wish to use it takes some thought and observation of the Roomba while it works as to see what gets in its way. Those that 1 star this product don't really understand the product, it does not have Artificial Intelligence it only has a program which helps it get around the space it operates in, it's up to the user to ensure that obstacles (Which are clearly listed and discussed in the manual.) are addressed so that the unit can do its job efficiently. If you leave furniture it can get caught on unaddressed or cords lying about your going to get problematic operation and that's on the user not the product. I've been running the 650 every day since December 25, 2015 and have had no issues. It starts its cleaning ritual at 7pm every night. The other week I heard it still cleaning at 930pm, it's usually done in 75 minutes, I found that the dock had been blocked and the little guy could not get to it, it kept cleaning with the Dock light flashing and the Clean button flashing red. Pretty good battery life for 2.5 hrs of continuous operation. As cleaning goes, the bin is 1/2 to 2/3 full when done. The floors are spotless, to be fair it is running on about 600 sq/ft of hardwood and tile with another 120 sq/ft of medium plush area rug. I just empty the bin every night before bed and do regular maintenance every 2 weeks. My wife loves that there is no dog hair on the floor and that the dust has considerably decreased. If you learn how to use the Roomba you'll love it!

Our 5 year old named ours Walli! I schedule it to run daily in the afternoon. It picks up the dog hair from 5 dogs pretty efficiently! The tray, the means of emptying it, has improved, its easier and more durable. I had 3 for my 2700 square foot home, due to the dirt (we live in the country) and the dog hair. When we lost our house in a tornado, I lost all of them. Once we received our personal property $, the very first thing I purchased was my Roomba!

Trust Me, You Need This

If you have a pet, you need this. If you don't, you still need this. I program it to vaccuum everyday while I'm at work, come home, empty the full bin quickly, and the house has much less dog hair! It may not get the whole floor perfectly clean everyday, but if you schedule it to run daily it will clean the whole floor and keep it clean over time. And I have to give BIG kudos for the customer service of iRobot, I am glad I purchased directly through them. They will help you with any problems or questions, and from my experience go above and beyond your expectations. I have had mine over a year, and did a bit of maintenance on the vaccuum recently. Everything is easy to replace and switch out, including the brushes, filter, bins, even wheels. After a year my robot is working the same as brand new with minimal maintenance costs. I didn't have to perform the replacements (they were all still working), but I want to keep it working like new because I love this thing.

What a machine!

The 650 has always found it's way back to the dock. It goes into the bedroom and the walk-in closet and all through a very complicated home layout. I just pull chairs out a little from the dining room table and it does a great job going around the legs. ONE time it got stuck on a stair. It let me know, and now I use the "virtual wall". Problem solved. It does a good job of slowing before contact with light colored things. Dark things it bumps noisily. Maybe some rubber on the bumper instead of the plastic could solve that. This is our second Roomba. Much improvement over our old Discovery model.

I love the fact that I can schedule it and it cleans while I'm at work. It picks up a lot of cat hair and litter. It gets the main area clean. I have a small apartment with hardwood floors and this works well between regular vacuuming. Definitely worth the money.

I just purchased the Roomba 650, my husband and I were very skeptical but after first use we were amazed at how well it cleans hardwood and carpeted floors equally well, not missing corner, edges, rims curves, nothing was missed out or left on our floors, including dust. I could never ask for more from a vacuum. I could not imagine that I, myself can clean with any vacuum better than Rommba 650. It does not go in certain order but if you let it be, you will enjoy the end result. Does not get stuck, I tried putting clothes, wires, paper napkins on the floor ,it gently sucks them in then quickly let go and moved away. Never seen under our beds cleaner. Virtual wall works effectively as well. I am really impressed by the final outcome and totally love it. Thank you for making our busy lives easier and allowing us more time to do other important things than clean our floors. Best advise, for quicker results, allow it to clean one room at a time, change bag before moving to another room. Let it run until it goes back to dock by itself, if not happy yet, let it recharge then start again till you are pleased. Does not take long, but all depends on size of room. Changing bag makes suction better and come on, it is saving you all the vacuuming, what's changing bag comparing to that? We are going to try the Floor Mopping with more confidence in this product. Thanks again.

I use it on all my floors. I have carpet, tile and hardwood. It does a great job on all of these. I liked it so well I bought 2 daughters each one for Christmas and they both love it also. I have a 650 model. If the price lowers a little Im planning on getting the new 880 model. If it preforms better than the 650 that will really surprise me.
