Flexible Quiet Operation

When we needed to replace our older dishwasher we chose LG because we were satisfied with other LG products. This model dishwasher operates very quietly and it does a great job. The technology is different from older dishwashers. For example, one must use a drying agent that is released at the proper time from the door mounted dispenser. Previously, we used a product that was an all-in-one detergent and drying agent. It worked well for the old dishwasher, but it doesn’t work well at all for the new LG dishwasher. When using the all-in-one product in the LG model, the dishes were damp (some were wet) at the end of the wash/dry cycle. However, using the sample drying agent furnished with the dishwasher yielded spotless, dry dishes.
The upper rack proved a bit awkward to use. There is plenty of space and the racks are adjustable, but we found it difficult to load our cereal bowls, coffee mugs and drinking glasses without rendering a lot of adjacent space unusable. We generally don’t wash a lot of place settings with wine glasses, tea cups and saucers of small uniform sizes. Instead, we wash a few dishes of various sizes and shapes where some unusable space isn’t a big problem. But for larger loads it is a challenge to find enough usable space in this model. Non sufficient useable space and awkward fitting tines were not a problem with older dishwashers we’ve used, but they are my main complaint about this product. On the other hand we really like the silverware tray. It’s large and easy to use.
This model has extra clearance between the lower and upper rack. Apparently, this allows space for washing taller pots and pans. However, the door lies open just a few inches off the floor. If one has difficulty bending down several extra inches, and you don’t need to wash taller pots and pans, this model may not be the best choice for you.
The model offers a variety of cycles that can be selected for flexibility in washing, rinsing and drying. The “Quick and Dry” option works well for us, but there are enough other choices to meet most any need. The cycle times seem rather long, but the end result is worth the wait. The dishes look great. The dishwasher chimes a short tune when it’s finished, but we’d also like it to have an indicator light that stays on when dishes are clean.
Overall, we are pleased with our purchase. It is completely satisfactory for our everyday use and with its stylish good looks and very quiet operation it’s a keeper.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like how quiet it is when running , you can't hear it .I'm a rinser always (since I don't run it daily) and doing this the dishes will come out clean. However, if the kids put something in without rinsing it generally needs to be rewashed. The ability to lower the upper rack is great: I have found that leaving it lower works well for me most of the time. The feature that sold me was the adjustuble tines, but those tend to make more of mess because they don't hold where you move them. The racks bend in the middle when you put in glasses of different circumferences. Every time you pull out the upper rack the glasses are either laying on their side or completely upside down with the open ened facing up. Same problem with the bowls of different sizes on the bottom rack .
I have already removed the covers for the silverware rack as they are way to much work to use. The three baskets offers the light conveinence of manueverbability, though are not fun to lift out when they separate and the silverware is all over the inside of the dishwasher.
My experience with appliances has always been less features is better and wished I had kept to that when choosing a dishwasher this time.
Also went against my better judgement and got the stainless, as it seems that is what everyone wants. Looks nice clean but there isn't a way to close the door easily with out touching the front and leaving fingerprints. The handle isn't each to reach with the door down, so it always looks messy.
After having this product for a few months would I pick it again? NO!
Pros: quiet
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We don't realize it is on!!

We got this dishwasher a few weeks ago and we wanted a quiet model.....wow, is it! The first time I used it I didn't believe it was working, the dishes get very clean and if it weren't for the little chime to say the cycle is done, you wouldn't think you had a dishwasher.
Pros: quiet!

(LDF 7551ST) Bottom dishes won't clean
on May 29, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this dishwasher (LDF 7551ST) since 9/2013. I should have returned it the first month it was installed, but I was foolishly optimist and thought I could work through the problems. I have to pre-wash everything that goes into the machine. Most of the time I just hand wash the dishes to avoid the bother. I have an error code that does not show up anywhere. It is two characters long and the first character looks like an unfinished character, almost as if part of the light display is burned out. The second character looks like a lower case letter h.
At some point I'll see another dishwasher for sell and I'll buy it. One thing for sure, it will not be a LG brand.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a really quiet dishwasher!

The dishwasher cleans the dishes very well and is unbelievably quiet. The only way that I know it is turned on and cleaning dishes is by checking to see the light blinking. I love the chimes at the end of the cycle that let me know my dishes are clean. It is also a very sleek and attractive appliance.

1st time dishwasher owner.

We've never had a dishwasher before this one, so really nothing to compare it to, but it does a great job cleaning then dishes. It's very quiet which is one of things we were looking for. Lots of fold-down tines in it so you can work with them up or down as you need with the dishes you're cleaning. Still working out the best way to set things up in there each time, but the book you get with it helps you with that too. Looks very nice and heavy duty but we've only had about 3 months and use it a few times a week. Very easy to load and start. Love being able to do something else while my dishes are being cleaned. Almost like having part time maid or something.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

WOW! Great dishwasher!

I have had this washer about 2 weeks now and really love it. It gets my dishes really clean just using the Quick & Dry cycle. Everything comes out clean and dry, no more drying by hand.
I also love the idea of being able to have tines that fold down to make room for bulky objects.
