A surprising surprise

I was given this mixer for a Christmas present by my partner. I was more than a little taken aback, to be honest. I have made my own bread and cookies for decades and I LIKE hand-mixing things with a trusty wooden spoon. A mixer seemed to me something that just loaded up the dishwasher with too many bits and pieces. I LOVE this mixer. It makes the most amazing bread dough, cakes, and cookies. I am using it almost daily and really enjoying it. It is strong, quiet and does a superb job. Not too many bits and pieces either. Just perfect.
I knew that Kitchen Aid mixers were rated highly, but when my husband surprised me with the Artisan mixer, I could not have imagined how much better my baking turned out with this product. I have made meatballs that were perfectly blended, delicious, hearty breads, and cakes with the lightest, fluffiest texture I have ever tasted. I know it is vastly superior to my previous mixer, and I find myself looking for recipes just to use it as much as possible. My husband chose the Expresso color, which frankly I would not have chosen, but I have come to love. It is a deep, rich color and I get many compliments on it. I am currently waiting for the grinder attachment to arrive, and I look forward to using that as well. I honestly cannot imagine ever using another brand of mixer from this point forward.
Pros: Flexibility, Performance, Innovative, Convenient Features, Easy To Clean, Design, easy to use

I bought this a couple months ago and just LOVE it! I bake cakes for special occasions and was using a hand held mixer. Now I can add all ingredients, turn on mixer and let it do its magic while I do other stuff. It mixes so smoothly and airy! Every thing comes out perfect! Is really great for making my frostings as they are thick.

Disappointing service

Was excited to replace my 35 year old KitchenAid stand mixer with a brand new one this Christmas. It came with a large orange warning sticker on the base of the mixer which I removed. Removal of the sticker caused some of the paint to come off and left a two square- inch marring of the finish. There was no mention anywhere that the sticker should not be removed. Unfortunately KitchenAid customer service would do NOTHING to correct the problem. Very disappointed to have made the upgrade only to have it ruined before I ever even used it.

Only lasted 3.5 years—no longer made the same!!

I have only had mine for 3.5 years. It will not move, completely unusable. The quality of KitchenAid mixers has gone down SIGNIFICANTLY. My mom has had hers for 30 years….but now you can’t expect your mixer to last more than 3.5 years. They only have a 1 year warranty, so if it stops running after 1 year, all they will do is offer a 20% off coupon to buy another poor quality mixer. EXTREMELY disappointing. Will be going with another, more high quality brand for my next mixer.

Aluminum dough hook gets freaking WELDED on
on September 15, 2022

bought this about 6 months ago and used it mostly for bread. However the aluminum dough hook is obviously not strong enough because it has deformed during use and become impossible to get off. I've tried all the recommended solutions, pouring hot water on the attachment to get it to thermally expand, oil etc . . . Nothing works. Its just about welded on. I've already damaged the paint on my mixer trying to get that dough hook off. You need a freaking hydraulic press to get it off and nothing will fit. I may end up cutting it off with a metal saw. Kitchenaid HAS a stainless steel dough hook. They should stop shipping this aluminum one EVER as it is horrible garbage. I've seen enough videos on how to get stuck attachments off that its obvious this is a common problem. Mine is just so severe that none of the common solutions work. this is probably because I was making a lot of bread. The aluminum dough hook is absolute trash. It will ruin your mixer and make it impossible to use for anything else. NEVER USE the aluminum dough hook to make bread under ANY circumstances. Its horrible trash and will ruin your mixer completely.

I've only tried it once so far. Disappointed that there wasn't a big warning on the bowl that whatever you put on it to make it shiny in production can come off looking like the metal's melted into your mix! I was making royal icing for Xmas cookies and had to throw out the whole batch, then run to the store & spend $15 for pre-made that didn't taste as good, because I didn't know this was "common" and didn't have time to make more after I spent 40 minutes researching and another 45 minutes scrubbing my knuckles raw with bar keepers friend, and a baking soda paste to get it clean.
Maybe my opinion will change when I can use it again.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used a Kitchen Aid Mixer for 33 years & was very happy with it, but it is about worn out - most speeds don't work anymore. I was excited to buy this new one, since the bowl is bigger & it is supposed to have more power. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is that the silver band on the motor head is installed crooked. (It could be a problem keeping clean.) I DO NOT like the fact that Kitchen Aid no longer puts the spring on the post. When running the mixer, it sounds clunky & I'm concerned about the motor wearing out soon because of so much play in the post & the part that goes up into the mixer head. When kneading dough, it sounds like the mixer is working harder than my old one that I made dough with for 33 years! My grandmother loved her kitchen aid, my mother loves hers & I loved my old one. But, I am disappointed with the new one.
