Easy and Portable and Perfect for me

I use flat bed scanners at home and needed a small portable one for use on my boat. This item fills the bill nicely. While not particularly fast for lengthy projects, it scans documents and small items easily and takes no space at all to store.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Epson WorkForce DS-30 Color Portable Scanner is great! It manageable to take on the raod. Easy to set up and not too bulky.

Great Little Scanner and the best feature is that it's out of one's way until it is needed and called upon. Only wish 400 dpi scans were faster...

Not everything is good

I bought this scanner for my MacBook Pro. The installation CD installed everything but nothing was working: "Can't recognize scanner" error was pupping up only and Repair was no resolving anything. I uninstalled all the components, downloaded all the software from epson.com, installed, and OK - it works now. Problem was that the software was compatible with OS X about 3 years old...
But now there is now text recognition or Business cards software... And no download for that available...
That's why 4 starts, not 5.

Set it up in a handful of minutes and will say that this very small footprint scanner exceeded expectations. Why? It's small, intuitive, and given it's apparent intention as a very handy convenience, fast enough.
