I purchased the Brother MFC-J4620DW from Best Buy and was told that it was compatible with the OS X Yosemite. When I hooked it all up, it turns out it is not compatible with Yosemite and the downloads won't be available until "late October". It is now October 27th and still no download available. I have called support 4 times and left messages for them to return my call with no response. So much for customer service. My last Brother product ever!

It works OK

It's does not work as well as the Brother printer that I purchased 8 years ago before it wore out. It is a little faster than my old printer but it hesitates a lot which is very odd.
It only prints in normal and HI definition so it wastes a lot of ink. Even when it is set to fast print which used to mean it would print lighter and not use much ink it still prints just like normal. I have not found any way around this so now I will be buying ink all the time. I guess that is the idea.

Great Printer But Quality Control Needs Improving

I really like the features of this printer, WiFi, Duplex and can print 11x17. After the the first two defective printers were replaced I have had great success with the printer. I purchased the printer at a local big box store because I thought it would be easier to return.
At first, the printing seemed to work fine until I decided to try the copy mode. The scanner jammed at the end of the track and refused to return. Instructions indicated that if you have issues to call Customer Service. It took many calls. What they are looking for is an error message from the printer. Except that with a mechanical/firmware malfunction such as this you cannot get past "Try turning the printer off and on again..." No real error code returned. Finally convinced them there was an issue. So package up printer and return after replacement arrives.
Printer number two had a cracked scanning glass and would jam with every paper feed. Again called Customer Service and again could not get to main screen so I could run the "clear the paper path" tool. Finally convinced them printer was defective.
Third printer was, and still is, the charm!
I would recommend this printer IF you are willing to be patient and go through more than one unit until you get one that works!

The J4620 is a good to excellent printer but it does have a shortfall. If it is not used daily or frequently the print heads need to be cleaned. Find this inconvenient when you want to print a document and do not want to stop for maintenance.

Fantastic and easy to use machine

I have been battling with various laser printers, e.g., leaking cartridges, paper jams, etc.
The MFC-J4620DW is the ideal All-in-One machine for a small home office. The print quality is outstanding.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great small printer. Love that I can print up to 11 x 17 sheets. Well made design. Only concern is how difficult you have made it for wireless printing. Had tried for nearly 5 hours the first time to get it to accept my wireless network, with no luck. Took the printer back to the store. Two weeks later, bought the same printer again at a different store. Still the same problems with wireless adaptation. Called your helpline and the girl on the line walked me right thru how to get the printer working on my wireless network. Had to do with manually typing in my IP address. Should not have to do that, as the printer should have been able to accept that with the instructions given with it. Anyway, the help was perfect and appreciated.

Great addition

I just bought my new Brother's , and what an improvement over my old Lexmark. I love the wireless and the digital function modes. The ink being a lot cheaper is also a real plus.
