Compressor, 2 Evaps, Filter Drier need replacing!!

After less than two years, this model refrigerator and freezer both suddenly stopped cooling. I am being told the Compressor, both Evaps and Filter Drier need replacing and it will be a 2-3 hour job! I was told the parts would take 5 days to come in but now I wonder after reading other's reviews if I might be weeks without my appliance AND it's the holidays. Great timing. huh? This refrigerator is NOT cheap and this should NOT be happening!! I am thoroughly disgusted and doubt I will ever purchase another LG product ever again especially after reading other people's reviews. Please STOP putting cheap parts in your products! Yes, the fridge looks beautiful and high-tech but it is useless if the fridge does not work! Sure, I have the extended warranty (thank goodness or LG would be getting a call from me) and pay nothing, but this is not the point. I wonder what will happen in 2/2020 when my warranty expires? Oh, I know, I will be purchasing a new refrigerator....not a LG. I had a 40+year old (not LG) chest freezer in my garage in the extreme cold/hot temps and not once ever had an issue with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the worst refrigerator we ever have. A lot of ice build-up in my fridge.

Won't Last Long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spent a lot of money on this refrigerator. It has been one year and 2 weeks and the thing is not cooling at all. Of course, it is no longer under warranty. An item this expensive should not need major repairs one year after purchase. This product is obviously not made well. Do yourself a favor and buy a better brand!

Problem from the start

The overall design and features in this refrigerator are very good and it offers good capacity for a counter depth refrigerator. That said, we have had an issue from the start with ice and frost building up around the cold air port in the left hand door where the ice-maker is located. On the first call the tech thought that a door had been left open because the evaporator coil in the refrigerator section was iced up. We didn't think so but since we had family visiting over Christmas, we couldn't rule it out. He defrosted the coil and we waited, but the frost / ice reoccurred. On the next visit, he defrosted the coil in the freezer section and replaced the defrost sensor. We now have frost and ice building up again so he has ordered a replacement left door. I am not confident that is going to solve the problem but we'll see. Even if it does, that will be three service trips on a brand new refrigerator that only has been in operation for two months. Not what you expect for this kind of money.

This product is very noisy

This product looks great both internally and externally. The drawers are excellent, the lighting is perfect - overall we love it, BUT - there was a constant water dripping sound which was very prominent at night. Luckily the LG Re-seller replaced the unit with a new one.
Unfortunately, the new unit also has a very audible noise, at times sounding like a aeroplane takeoff!! It is less than 10 days we have received the unit and we are wondering whether we should keep it, even though we like all other aspects of the unit.

Major problems

Our fridge is less than a year old and in that time it has frozen up, the ice maker has been replaced and now the water pressure on the water dispenser has dramatically decreased. I'm guessing a bad valve, but we'll know when the repair folks get here. I have never owned a fridge that has failed so many times in such a short time.
