I got this because I was running late for a show I had to tape for and it was the quickest/smallest tripod on the shelves I could grab.
It works, as long as you can finagle it to the angle you need, it's good. It defantly works if you know what you're doing. Of course this isn't meant for your Canon GL2 or anything. It works, and that's all I needed.
What's great about it: It holds my Panasonic PVGS31 fine

I bought this just to have a small tripod to steady my pictures and videos. I think it works great! I have a Samsung - 10.2-Megapixel Digital Camera (the blue one) and it works perfectly with it. The mount does not fall over and the ball head stays put when I want it to. I have also just recently purchased the Sony Handycam DCR-SR47 camcorder and it hold that up too with no problem, although I will be a bit careful when using the tripod with it since the camcorder is a bit on the heavy side (for the size of the tripod). This is definitely a good purchase for someone who doesn't want to spend $50 or more on a tripod and just wants something that will get the job done.
What's great about it: Great price, easy to set up, works great with digital cameras and small camcorders
What's not so great: Extends to fairly short height

This is a great way to set up a desk top camera or video cam to record lectures or speeches. Takes up very little room and it's weight helps to anchor your cam so it doesn't become top heavy like lighter small tripods do. Because of it's size it fits in any briefcase, backpack or computer case.
What's great about it: Small, stows nicely, easy to use, solid build.

I bought the Mini-D to go with the MS Studio Live-Silver webcam. I wanted the ability to move the cam around for more viewing options and it has worked great for the application. The parts are a combination of metal and plastic parts. Better than the supper cheap.
I can see it is not designed for heavy cameras but, I have been able to use it with my Sony Video Cam giving a great little desk support system.
What's great about it: Size, Storage ability.
What's not so great: Can be over loaded....But, then again use common sense it is a Mini.
