I bought this because I forgot to pack my regular mini tripod for a family trip. My wife and in-laws wanted to get a photo of all of us together. The Sunpak did the trick, it's stable and held my small digital rangefinder. It doesn't have the bells and whistles my regular travel tripod, but it does the trick.

This camera stand it a perfect height to use while on a counter. The only issue I had with this product is the legs. When the legs were fully extended the slightest pressure from leaning on camera would make the legs retract and the camera would fall over.

We've got a camera case for our SLR with a couple of extra lenses, extra battery, etc.
We purchased this tripod so we could always have one with us. It fits in the case, and the mini-bag it comes with protects the other gear from the metal edges.
It has worked great for us so far. Easy to use, easy to store. I don't know yet how durable it's going to be... a little worried that the locking mechanisms in the legs seem flimsy, and a failure there would almost certainly mean a tumble for the camera. It is so small that tipping is a bit of a danger.

This tripod is easy to set up although I must admit that the legs are a bit stiff. That is to say the angle is a bit too small for a heavier camera, in my opinion. I don't feel 100 percent sure that it won't tip....although as of yet it hasn't. It does give you that extra height though so I guess it's good for not too much money.
