Prefect for Travel

This is my very first JBL product and for what i paid I am completely satisfied, yes it would be nice to have a USB charger over the wall plug but for a bluetooth travel speaker, its great, compact and easy to use.
The sound, well the sound is amazing for such a small device and when one is stuck in a Hotel room it sure beats listening to your ipod playlist through the internal speaker of a laptop or headphones.
I have also used it for SKYPE and it makes a conference call so much better.
If you travel regularly, do yourself a favour and get a JBL Flip, you wont be disappointed!

Let me tell you a story about the JBL Flip...

A few weeks ago I went on vacation to Texas to see family. I took my Flip with me to listen to music while I slept. A bunch of us old friends got together at BWW outside on the patio. There was no music speaker out there and was kind of awkward at points so one of my friends said to start streaming music from my phone because I have unlimited data. After about 5 min barely hearing it from my phone I went to the car to get the Flip. I turned it on and up and EVERYBODY on the patio came up and thanked us and was inquiring about the speaker. Everybody was amazed by the sound it was putting out on the balcony. I almost got to the point where I thought someone might steal it! It got everybody on the patio mingling and we were just having out own little party out there! Even the servers started coming out and getting orders from everyone and was also commenting on the speaker.
For how small it is you'll be amazed at the quality and quantity of sound it puts out. Pairs super easy. Has built in microphone so you can also use it as a portable speakerphone! Can sit horizontally or vertically. Battery lasts about 3-4 hours with it cranked around 75%. Charges pretty fast and will play while charging. It has only two flaws. One, you can't charge it with a USB cable as it has it's own adapter. It doesn't seem too bad though because the battery lasts quite a while. Two, there is no battery level or volume indicator lights. Power button will flash red for about 10 min and then it shuts off. I highly recommend it to everybody. I'll probably be giving some out for Christmas this year. If you want a small, rechargeable, blue tooth speaker that you can have a party outdoors with... you cannot beat this for 100 bucks.

Just bought this using ios 7.0.4 the newest on an iPad 2 no problem, don't know where the complainers come from. I also use an iPod 2 ios 4.1 works great too, fastest pairing of all my4 Bluetooth products.

Great sound from a small package

I have been looking for a small portable speaker to stream my music library from my IPhone for 2 months. There are a lot of choices on the market ranging in price from $50 to $300. The JBL Flip is the perfect compromise between price and quality- in fact I don't think I compromised on sound quality a bit. I bought my Flip at the local Best Buy which allowed me to compare sound quality against all the other speakers- including Bose and Beats. This unit sounds great- deep rich sound, just the right balance and for only $99. This piece sounds as good as the much more expensive Bose- may not be quite as loud, but It still can get loud if you want it. I listen to mostly jazz and classic rock and this unit is awesome. Connects seamlessly with my bluetooth phone and has just enough features. I do not write reviews normally but after buying this product I had to share my opinion. Buy it you won't be disappointed!

Extremely easy to set up. Turns on with a beep. Then a double beep/chirp and phone recognizes BT connection. Simple and efficient. Volume rocker can go loud. Why the CHARGE doesn't come with a speakerphone like FLIP was deciding factor to buy FLIP. Speakerphone is decent and music cancels when phone rings. Not the best speakerphone but works well. Again, good volume adjust for caller.
Music playback is decent. Bass lacks but there is punch. No 'sparkle' on the higher frequencies. My S4 can make some equalization adjustments and really make this little speaker sound terrific...for what it is. Hey it beats listening to the speaker on the phone and afterall isn't that the point ? The FLIP serves its purpose in spades.
I've got a black Samsung S4 and a black FLIP. A sweet little match. Completely satisfied.

I been hinting all year to get some kind of external device for my Android phone cuz I love music and my speeakers on my phone were not cutting it. Got this today for Cristmas and it is AWESOME...you are not going to blow your neighbors away ....but very nice sound and very light and easy to carry. Easy to start up..and easy to figure out. Remember the speaker power is in direct proportion to the media volume on your phone/computer etc.
I highly reccomend this product...especially for the price.

Good sound once connected but popping is making me return it

I was excited after looking at initial reviews of the Flip. Set up is relatively straightforward but I am fairly technical. Getting the Bluetooth to sync requires a few steps and may irritate non-techies, especially since it requires changes in your configuration after you connect and disconnect.
I primarily bought it as a wireless speaker for my Mac Book Pro. It's the latest and greatest MBP. I keep the speaker close and want to use it primarily for music and as a speaker phone. I thought it was a great that it had a built-in mike. Net-net people complained about the sound quality when using it as a mike so I stopped after the first few times. Not a big deal.
Once connected the sound quality is excellent. Volume is great and the bass is deep.
However, every time a new sounds starts (e.g., music, email, tweets) the speakers "pop." When a sound is done playing, it "pops." "Pop, email tone, Pop" Hours of this is getting to be too much. I've also noticed some crackling during songs. The crackling isn't consistent. There is also a short delay between the pop and the sound starting. Maybe 1/2 a second which is long when you are accustomed to the music starting right away.
This is one of the higher number serial numbers (which supposedly addressed the antennae issue) and it's less than two feet from my computer. I have the same problems when using it with my Galaxy SIII.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Bass!

This little speaker really packs a punch! The bass is amazing especially for its size. Battery life may be debatable especially at full blast (which I might add is REALLY loud!). Also I wish it came with a USB charger rather than a standard wall plug. Overall amazing product!
