Sounds great! but no USB charging is major fail

Like all the other reviews, this is a great sounding portable speaker for this size. However, the lack of a micro USB charging port means I have to pack yet another charging cable when I travel with it. These days when you need to travel as light as possible, the last thing you want is to pack one more charging cable with a huge plug. Fail on the portability.
Still, I do recommend it because it does sound great.

Note to JBL: on your next revision of the FLIP, please change the charging to micro USB port. You do it for the Micro and the Charge, why not the Flip also. Thanks!

i have been using the flip 2 sounds great so i picked up the lastest one Flip4 the sound that comes out of it great fills the room and has a larger battery from the first one i have. worth the money spent

I went out to purchase a portable Speaker and I got just that and more. I love that JBL can package such a big punch in a quite small package. I would definitely refer to all my Friends

I never would have that that this small looking speaker would produce such a big and bold sound that covers a very large amount of space. Amazing product and for those of you that are still not convinced that this product is comparable to the jawbone Jambox/Big Jambox then read all of the other reviews of this product and then compare the prices between both products, I'm sure your coice will be a wise one...

Five stars for: wireless comfort, ease of operation, sound you would expect from a JBL. And the aesthetics, I am a sucker for aesthetics. It is one of the main reasons besides the bluetooth I bought it before hearing it. Cannot speak on behalf of durability because I just got it.
Bluetooth operation reaches beyond 9 Meters (27 ft.). My livingroom is 9.5 Meters long. Haven't tested taking calls through this speaker. I assume it also has a built-in mic.
Lows sound hyped around 130 HZ. This gives you that sense of deep bass. Bass for this size it has plenty. Highs sounds edgy but I like it. Packs punch too. Can go loud and I recommend caution.
Price/value is great if you live in US. In Europe it sells for about $165 ( E129,95). Mweh, a bit high.

Amazing Quality

This is an amazing portable speaker system for any unit. My daughter gave this to me as a b-day gift, and the blue tooth is as easy as any I've ever set up. The sound is truly amazing. I have hooked it to my laptop, cell and Samsung Note tablet. All the music sounds are way better than you could ask for from a unit like this. The cell connection allows clear hands free cell phone calls.
You won't be disappointed in any way. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a small portable unit.

For a bluetooth-enabled rechargeable computer speaker, it does the job for me. Pretty decent bass for such a small unit. I have one for use on my home Mac and I use one in my classroom when I use embedded video within PowerPoints. The ability and versatility in being able to move the speaker around when needed is a plus. The sound of this JBL portable speaker is able to fill my classroom with on average of 38 students well.For the record, this speaker replaced some really cheap computer speakers which had a "tinny" type of sound. I am satisfied with this purchase.
