I bought my 151's about 15 years ago and I have NEVER taken them down for the winter. They sit under the eave of my garage roof, relatively protected from the weather and they sound as good today as they did when I hooked them up.
I am proud to have 4 different Bose systems / speakers in my house and I do not go anywhere without my noise cancelling headphones either. This is the first review I have ever written, btw

best speakers ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a pair twenty years ago and I mounted them in my trees and finally ants got in one of them. So I bought two more and again perfect sound should last another twenty years and I live near Galveston Tx. so salt air does not bother them. I like them so much I bought another pair for my Back porch now I can have all four on or just the two. I love them excellent product

Awesome speakers!

I have had these speakers for 6 years. Never once have I taken them down for winter and they work perfect. at low volumes they don't boom bass so you can listen to all night however you can crank them up and get great sound and bass from them. Bose makes a great long lasting product for a great price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the 151’s twelve years ago to mount in the cockpit of our sailboat. Sorry Bose, but I removed every bit of exterior information indicating they were Bose. They spend too much time without me there to keep them from “disappearing.” And the name “Bose” would be enough to attract. I carefully direct wired them with 18 gauge shielded cable to a 200 watt automobile stereo system in the cabin and haven’t taken them out of the rain for 12 years. The sound is amazing. I wanted a speaker system that I could mount higher on the sailboat stantions to avoid the “boominess” that goes with speakers mounted in the walls of the cockpit. Sound is clean and accurate for anyone in the cockpit.

What's not to love?

I have the speakers on my rooftop deck and the sound quality is amazing. I recommend them to anyone looking for discreet yet powerful sound. I need another set for my basement patio.

Great speakers

I live in Las Vegas, while just about everything else I have purchased (patio chairs, solar lighting, umbrellas, BBQ pits) that is outdoors have suffered the effects of the desert sun in the summer and had to be replaced. Not the Bose 151's and they sound quality is incredible. I've been tempted to bring them inside because they sound a lot better then my non Bose speakers in my house. Great job Bose!

Bought these because other bose products were great. These bought in aug 2018. Rarely used and brought in every winter. This year hooked them up and one speaker is blown. Checked all wiring in the stereo and it is fine. Really disappointed and now $ to repair not including shipping. Feel really ripped off. To bad. Not sure if I am going to try another pair or not. I have had better luck with the bluetooth soundlinks.
