This is the best radar detector I have ever owned! You pick up radar and have a chance to slow down even on corners before you see the "red light" ! My favorite part is the smart cord - especially when it's in the windshield and you can't reach the detector itself - it's the only radar detector where you can MUTE the beeping right at the cigar lighter .. other than that - the suction cup is a hassle - one side falls off all the time and finding a replacement suction cup is more of a task than I can say - if you know of where to get them - this size and not bigger - then reply to the review - thanks!
What's great about it: Best for giving you time to slow down
What's not so great: Suction Cups

I love it

I bought this a few weeks ago and am very happy so far. I've had a radar detector in the pass but lost it somewhere along the way and had recently gotten a speeding ticket so I thought it was time to get another one. As far as accuracy goes, it works great. I see a lot of comment on it being overly sensitive but to me that's a good thing. All the same it has built in software (that's turned off by default) to evaluate signals and report ones that are more a high risk. Also like that it picks up the new POP radar guns too, NY and some other state are more or less experimenting with them still but when and if these guns become a regular tool for cops, it's nice to know I won't need to buy a new radar detector.
What's great about it: Everything

Works good but if I bought another one I would get the next best one. Just about any alarm sets this thing off. There has been a few times it went of signaling me to slow down and there was a cop nearby. So has been useful

The Escort line has great detectors compared to other brands. I've used a Cobra before picking this model up and it makes the cobra look really useless. The range of the passport is what makes this work wonders. I'm not a speeder, but it comes in handy at times.
What's great about it: it works!, incredible range
What's not so great: Does not tell location of radar source.

After wrongfully getting 2 speeding tickets in one day by the noble CHP (California Highway Patrol), I realized that it wasn't time to slow down (since, I wasn't speeding...but I'm not bitter). Instead, it was time to purchase a quality radar detector that would alert me of their adventurous shenanigans. I purchased and began using this radar detector in May 2009 and have been using it since. I'm not a speeder. I, like many of you, go with the speed of traffic and that can get you in trouble. Why pay for the expensive legal costs and hassles of fighting/conceding to a speeding ticket when you can prevent any future tickets by making this nominal investment?
What's great about it: Easy to set up and very accurate.
I would recommend this to a friend!

False Positives

This radar detector works, but it also has way too many false positives. It's great for the highway and interstate travel, but would not recommend this for in-town use. The Escort 9500 is much more accurate and remembers gps locations for false positives.
