Not as good as before

This is my fifth iRobot in all and my second scuba; I was hopeful that this would be amazing, given it does both sweeping and scrubbing I was sure I found my hard floor zen, since I now wouldn't have to run my sweeper then my scrubber, streamlining here I come. Sadly I was wrong, my floor never gets clean now. I have a large floor around 1400 on the first floor that I expect it to clean, if you have a small room then this may work for you. However for my home it never is able to clean the whole floor before running out of batteries. It doesn't even use all the water in the cleaning tank before its battery life is depleted. What is worse is that the areas that it does manage to clean are not getting fully clean, there tends to be water spots and a residue left, and in case your wondering I only use the provided cleaner. The other down side is cleaning the machine afterwards. The rep really sold me when he said it was easier to clean but after having one I simply disagree, it is nasty (really nasty) to clean out the water and the dirt at the same time (the dry material from sweeping and the dirty water from scrubbing all go into the same tank) I feel like I never fully get the dirty tank clean and am always dealing with getting the hair and gunk out of the sink when I clean it, very unhappy with this aspect, I would rather clean the floor than deal with cleaning the tank. I wish they had the old scuba, it was a bit unreliable in comparison to all the awesome robots I have had but at least when it did work it really cleaned the floor. On a positive note, I have an iRobot that took a bullet, and still worked for another 3 years like a champ, I still love you guys, just not your scrubbers yet, hoping the next one will be better suited for large rooms and just be scrubber not a sweeper scrubber combo, or have separate tanks if it is a combo.

I've just purchased the new Scooba and what an amazing robot. I had one of the original Scoobas from a number of year ago, and this one runs rings around it. I was somewhat skeptical that it would really clean the floor, but I can say that it does an amazing job and is very easy to use. We have a large area of travertine tile, and the Scooba picked up an amazing amount of sludge and dirt. Great product.
Pros: Effective, Not too loud, Speedy

I use water with a capful of Lavender floor cleaner to shampoo my floors. Immediately after use I empty and rinse the tank. The removable parts like roller blade, filter etc remove & wash and parts that do not come off I use wet paper towel to clean and dry off with dry towel. It is noisy but you get used to it, I like using my Scooba I call her Loreta. Within 3 months from purchase date I had to have the main base replaced, first it appeared like the battery would not charge so I ordered a new one, that did not fix it so irobot sent me the new base. Now 8 months later the machine turns on but will not run and irobot wants to charge me $150 to fix it. Over the phone they tell me it could be the start button problem. Why have a product that has so many defects? If the machine lasted 3 to 5 years without these hiccups them irobot has a great product. I would recommend to a friend BUT with a big warning about purchasing some kind of warranty for 3 years that irobot will have to pay to repair their product.

Cons: Clogs Easily, Difficult To Clean, Noisy

Great idea, but won't do the job

The unit does not dispense water evenly and does not pick up what it does dispense. It stops dispensing water altogether leaving the clean water tank 1/2 full. The dirty tank is completely empty, so the water it dispensed evaporates from my tile floor. I wrote to iRobot on their own website feedback line and have not heard a word back.
Cons: Does Not Dispense Water, Does Not Pick Up Water

Sadly a BIG step down from 390

I've been an irobot customer for a decade or more, since the very first Roomba. I've had at least one of EVERY generation of Roomba and one or more of every Scooba. Some have been better than others, but I can say that each new generation offered at least some improvement. Until now. The 450 is a disaster. Yes, it runs around MUCH faster. It's maybe three or four times as fast as the older Scoobas. It has a nice compact tank assembly that's easy to fill and to dump. The removable brush head assembly is MUCH nicer than prior generations. But sadly the 450 is an unequivocal DISASTER in the most important area. It cleans worse than ANY earlier models. It leaves massive amounts of dirty water on the floor. Much less than half the water you put in will come back out. All you really do is change your dust into mud trails. The thing has also now begun making a HOWLING noise that I can hear from outside my house. It's too loud to hear a TV or radio, too loud to even read a book. Maybe it's time for irobot to abandon mopping robots. My new brushless Roomba is BY FAR the best Roomba yet. It is as brilliant as the Scooba is horrible. Save yourself the frustration. Buy a Roomba or a second or third Roomba. Skip the Scooba 450.

Cons: Barely Picks Up Any Water, Cleaning Performance Bad, Has Begun Making Howl, Leaves Sopping Wet Trail, More Costly Than 390, Much Smaller Area Vs 390

I have floor grates, scooba does not go over them. It also does not pick up enough water, leaves the floors wet. I am really disappointed In scooba.

The best mopping robot. Cleans so much better than the current Brava models (they are just toys in comparison on tile floors). Why why why did you discontinue it? Mine 3 Scoobas still work perfectly after many years of use. I don't want to start using a mop again once my Scoobas get too old and quit working. Please. Bring. Scooba. Back.

I've had this robot for a few weeks and I'm really happy with it. I had a big family party on Sunday - and it rained. People and dogs running in and out of the kitchen tracking mud. It was late, I was tired, the dishes were done but the floor was a mess. I put scooby on the job and went to bed. I was greeted the next day with a nice clean floor! I love this robot! I bought this robot to mop the kitchen floor between house cleanings when for some reason the floor is a mess. I was attracted to the fact that it uses only clean water, it doesn't just smear around the dirt so you don't notice it so much. It far exceeds my expectations - it does a really good job on the kitchen tile! I also tried it on my screen porch - floor to ceiling screens on three sides, very rough tile. The screen porch gets very dirty very fast. Scooby did a pretty good job on the screen porch even though it was really filthy the day I decided the screen porch was in desperate need of a cleaning and I really would rather lie on the couch and read a mystery. The cleanup of the bristles and squeegee is fast and easy. It would be nice if the battery lasted longer, so it could do more on one charge. It's still a great device. A pricey device, but worth every penny when you go to bed with a dirty floor and wake up to a clean one.
