Great printer

My workforce WF-3540 printer has performed very well and proven to be easy to use and day-by-day reliable. I previously used more expensive printers from competitors and this printer outperforms them. It was easier to set and is more cost effective to operate. I am totally satisfied with this printer. I highly recommend it.

Invasive and demanding

The most frustrating thing about this device is that it assumes its scanning progress is the most important thing in your life at the time. No matter what I am trying to do at the computer, this unit will interrupt, shunt aside whatever I'm trying to work on, to tell me that it is scanning the next page. How dare I want to multi-task!
If it were not for this, it would be a very user-friendly device.

In less than 6 months it started printing everything completely unaligned. No alignment check or fix would work so I dealt with it. Now, after a year it will not recognize the black ink cartridge( it's an epson ink cartridge, not aftermarket). I went through 2 cartridges and it still won't recognize them. Worst part is that the printer is completely useless now, it won't scan or fax, just puts an error message on the screen to remind me to never buy epson again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good value-Nearly perfect for home-office use

After about 1-year the WF-3540 continues to operate almost as well as new. It would get 5 stars except it has a few intuitions of its own I cannot understand. Aside from those little problems, all of which can usually be solved manually during use, I've enjoyed its excellent overall performance.
I would recommend this to a friend!
