Another Hit!!! 12 minutes and I was printing!

This is actually the second review I've written. The 1st was being so surprised that in 12 minutes from the time I cracked the tape on the box it came in, I had already printed duplicates that I had to file in two different places...from across the room using WiFi...no cables folks.
The copies just shot out of the machine, they were beautiful, even in the standard quality mode they were crisp and clear and again, I have to say it...12 minutes, open top, ink in, disc in, quick simple WiFi directions, and one of the days chores was done and done!!!
And that was only the start; I have 25 3-panel brochures to do next...15 minutes tops! And that's full color off the printer, folded and banded. The copies themselves are only going to take 3 minutes or so, both sides. The rest is my fumbling fingers doing the work of...hey! Epson! Do you make a bi-tri folding machine? I've never had problems with your gear! Lemme know when you can.

WF-3540 Printer

I have had this printer for about a year. It is rather large for a home printer and if you are a little tight on space I would recommend a smaller printer. However, if you are not too cramped for desk space or you have a separate printer stand to place it on it will make an excellent addition to your home office or simply as a personal printer to print documents or pictures, fax, copy, or scan documents to email.
It is a quick and sharp printer. The copies it makes are crisp and clear. The ink cartridges are easy to replace. The paper is easy to load and it has two cassettes so that you can print documents or pictures without having to change paper; or if you are printing two different size documents all you have to do is change cassettes in properties instead of changing the paper out. I normally keep 8.5" x 11" in cassette one and 8.5" x 14" in cassette two.
The pictures I have printed out are very crisp and detailed.
The document feeder works really well and I have not had it jam up or misfeed on me yet.
The flatbed scanned works really well for items that will not go through the feeder.
The only drawback that I have found is that the ink cartridges are a little expensive and run out rather quickly. I would recommend finding a good recycled cartridge retailer to lower your printing costs.
This printer has performed very well for me and I would recommend it to anyone for a personal or small business operation.

Very good All in One

I have used this all in one for about 2 years. I love it. I have only one problem that seems impossible to solve. At some point in the update of drivers or my change to WINDOWS 8.1 that ability to scan to the PC from the display just will no longer work. It bothers me and I do like to walk in scan a document that I am going to destroy and go do something else. Instead, now I must sit down to the PC and run the Scan Utility. I install something call WSD that was to solve this or something like this problem. I just have more options in the scan menu that do not work.
All this said, I do love this printer. It never jams, is fast, wakes up fast and produces great looking document and photo prints. copy and scan work well. Of course, I am scanning from the utility on the desktop. I hope Epson support will help me solve this soon.

Epson WF 3540

First off, I am a 70 yr old lady who didn't grow up with computers and who learned to type on a manual.l This is the easiest printer I have ever set up. If you just follow the instructions, step by step, you cannot fail.I expected to have to do some fiddling around to get the differerent tasks working properly. I have confirmed status on all options, print, fax, copy, and scan, all without a hitch. The only problem so far is that I cannot figure out how to scan a credit card on both sides as it doesn't look like it can go throught adf.,I would love a web site that show how to do that.

WF-3540 - not extraordinary

Very affordable, would work fine for home use. Too many negatives in the first 3 days for consideration/recommendation for home-office or office environment. I found it difficult to set up, still haven't gotten the cloud settings to work, and the scan function is extremely slow. I thought it would have been at least comparable to the technology of another multi function that I bought 2+ years ago. The only improvement: Duplex scanning. Scan speed: much slower. Did not interface easily with my purchased scanning/file management software

Epson wins again with WF-3540

I just replaced my WF840 with this new WF-3540 all-in-one and I see the problems I had with the 840 have all been addressed and then some. The set up is smooth and simple and the print quality is impressive right out of the box. Fax set up was simple and the speed of both sending and receiving has improved, also disconnect after receiving is no longer an issue. The touch display is much improved and the interface is actually a joy to use with many new functions being added. The printer software once installed offers a multitude of adjustments for various tasks that had previously been limited. The ADF is fast & seems to be improved regarding feed issues, there don't seem to be any on this model.
The only negative that I can find on this new WF-3540 is that the top cover for the glass seems very flimsy and loose on the hinges when opening and closing. I am a consumer who goes overboard with care of my products so while I am sure I won't have issues with this I do this as a fault.
Overall I must say that I believe Epson has taken input from consumers and incorporated the features that matter while upgrading the quality of the WF-3540 all-in-one printer far above that of it's predecessor. 10 thumbs up from me!

Good AIO printer with just a couple of flaws...

I like the Epson WorkForce WF-3540 All-in-One Printer, but there are a couple of things that might prevent me from fully recommending it to a friend (or, I'd at least suggest they look around and keep an eye out for these items):
1. It is loud. I get that most printers are, but there must be some way to reduce the noise of cycling the paper through the machine!
2. Runs through ink quickly (yes, I get it that companies make money on the ink, not the printers, but it just seems like I'm always changing a cartridge - maybe a bigger (MUCH bigger and, yes, more expensive) ink capacity?
3. Draft option is very poor - you can barely read what prints. Probably to force you to print in "standard" to use more ink. Other printers I've used had much better draft printing legibility.
4. The paper output capture try is right on top of the first paper input tray, so if you run out of paper while printing you have to remove everything on the output tray to add paper, and then remember to pull the output tray back out and keep everything in order. An issue, but a small thing, so it is last on the list.
