ABBYY FineReader Sprint
on September 27, 2013

I just unpacked my printer last night. Be sure to NOT install ABBYY FineReader. It crashed my entire Office Professional Pro 2013 on my Windows 8 laptop, requiring a complete uninstallation and reinstallation of Office. The add ins from ABBYY prevent both Word and Excel from processing properly. I spent over four hours on the phone with Microsoft support to find that ABBYY was causing this problem. Then I discovered it had also crashed the Office 2010 version I have on my desktop. At least I know now to remove the program. The printer seems to work fine. I haven't tried the scanner yet.

Terrible

Even with new drivers downloaded, the scanner does not work with new Macintosh computers. The printer barely works.

Not impressed
on November 6, 2013

I've had this printer for about a year, and while it prints quickly and legibly like most printers today, what's the point of having two drawers for paper when the printer doesn't recognize the second drawer? Every time it tells me it's out of paper, I check the second drawer and it's still full. And I've never had a two-sided printer jam up as often as this one does. It seems about every tenth page jams it. And then it resumes from the beginning of the print job rather than the point where the jam occurred!

INK, ink, ink

I'm not happy with the amount of ink this printer is using compared to my older all-in-one Stylus.
The printer works well and I love the double sided printing feature, but the need for more print cartridges already doesn't bode well for=printer funds.

1998 called, they want their software back!

Horrible installation software, which assumes the printer you're installing is on the same subnet as your computer on which you want to install drivers. Software scans your local network for the printer and if can't locate it, it halts and can go no further. That is, unless you have a USB to printer cable - oh by the way, which isn't included. If the network scan fails, then why can't I just give it the printer's IP address? Absolutely MORONIC! It's so, so... 1998!

Don't install Abbey Reader!!!!!!!
on April 2, 2014

Printer is good but don't install Abbey reader on the driver software. It conflicted with several Microsoft programs and made them stop working!!!! Outlook, Word, Excel. Took me a couple of days to diagnose the problem. Uninstalling Abbey Reader took care of the problem.
