Hook up very easy (System Mac OS 10.6.8). Entire setup took about 20 min. Including unpacking, WiFi connection, loading ink, and printing test page. There is an update that should be loaded (from Epson web-site).
Copy, Scan, printing photos, and printing all ran without a problem. Touch screen very easy to use.

Wireless printing and wireless conflict...

Fantastic all in one machine however if you are on a laptop or tablet using DSL on wireless you may want to disconnect from your DSL before installing a wireless printer. It likes your Linksys better than its base connection.
Other than the above, all is fine at this early stage. Will update in the future if need be.
Great price for good machine... And if I can install anyone can!

Near perfect printer

This is a reliable work horse of a printer. It's wonderfully fast for an ink jet and handles both text and photos nicely.
The user interface on the touch screen is easy to use and near perfect. Here's the one flaw.
When entering the wifi user/pass, you have to type the details in using a 10 key phone dialer instead of a keyboard. Why not add the keyboard to the touchscreen?? Our company user and pass are very long and it took 15 minutes to do this simple task. That said, it's something you only have to do once so it's not a deal breaker.
The photo quality on a print that is not set to "high qualtiy" is sub par, lines going through images aren't acceptable for a normal quality print, it would be fine if I had selected low quality.
The scan and copy functions are fantastic.
I've yet to use the fax function.
All that said, I've owned a half-dozen printers over the last few years and this is my favorite.

The main feature I like is the two-sided printing. This is especially nice since I print a lot of forms. The printer is unusual slow in printing a document. At times I've had to reboot my computer and printer to get the printer to work. The price was resonable. Prior to this printer I had a WF 600 which I really liked even though it only had single-sided printing.

Nice color, too much ink
on May 16, 2013

I purchased this printer for design office use for 2 users. We've used Epson printers in the past and the color can't be beat. Our last printer was the B-310N which was truly a high yield ink jet printer. It stopped working after 2 years and we needed to replace it. Unfortunately it seems that Epson is discontinuing that model. So after much research we selected this model. But this printer doesn't even come close to the efficiency and low ink consumption of the B-310N. At the rate this printer is using ink we will spend 3x as much money as we did using the B-310N. I would recommend this printer for home or home office use. I would NOT recommend this printer for any design office.

Epson WF-3540 Review
on May 25, 2013

I purchased the printer about a week ago after returning another brand computer I did not like. Below are my comments on the WF-3540 to date:
1. Setup was very easy as the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
2.Wireless setup just required inputting the network password. I used the printer touchpad instead of a USB cable and it was recognized immediately.
3. I ran into a couple of minor items thst required clearification and these were addressed by Epson Support very efficiently and quickly.
4. The thouchpad controls took a little getting used to but they are logical enough to master easily.
5. Using it so far has been great. I Like the fact that I can load normal paper in the #2 tray and reserve the other one for envelopes and specail use papers.
6. I especially like the one sheet of paper or one envelope slot in the back - very handy.
I have used only the copy and print functions so far, but I feel the scan and fax ones will work as well. The fax setup was very easy. The software takes a shortened route when a second computer is set up with fax capability.

Great 4 in 1

The print quality is very good. I do allot of greeting cards and photography, and the quality is very good in that regard.
The machine is extremely easy to install and use.
The reasons for the 4 star instead of 5 star are-
1. The rear paper feeder for 4x6 photo paper is a royal pain to use. Takes many attempts b4 it feeds properly. I have not tried other size paper in the rear feeder as of yet.
2. The front pull out, catch the paper tray can be a real bear to push back in, it does not push back in smoothly 99% of the time. Can be very aggravating at times.
I like everything else re this 4 in 1.
