extremely lacking software

I was very disappointed with the lacking software and inadequate user manual associated with this printer. I have been using an HP Photosmart 7280 all-in-one for the past couple of years and it is excellent with super software. The 7520 performs OK, however associated software for scanning and emailing or sending to the computer is lacking and/or non-existent when accessing via your computer. The CD installation disc is nothing but frustrating with little guidance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like HPs

I purchased the 7520 e-all-in-one to replace my C6180 all-in-one, which had started giving strange messages regarding newly-inserted HP ink cartridges. I really dreaded the time when I would have to replace that printer because it had done everything so well. However, it is several years old; so I purchased the 7520. The 7520 is very nice but it does not print pictures quite as well as my 6180. The color is a little darker than the 6180, making facial features seem not as disctinct; but one should be able to adjust that issue in whatever software programs are used. I don't particularly like the way paper is loaded (I prefer a pull-out tray), and I did not like all the web icons on the display screen; I have not yet learned if those can be removed. I have always used HP printers and have been quite satisfied with them and am satisfied with the 7520. It is an adjustment to my 6180 which I will use as a back-up. But overall,

Great Print, Copy, Scan However...

This printer does Printing, scanning and copying very well. My problem is with the Fax. It is analog only!! This is fine if you have only analog phone service. Most modern providers are digital services so thus the fax will not work as a single line (Voice & Fax) system. The only solution seems to be installing a dedicated analog line into your home or business at additional installation and monthly expense to the consumer in order for the fax to work. NOWHERE IN ANY LITERATURE OR ADVERTIZING DOES HP MAKE YOU AWARE OF THIS SITUATION. HP needs to find a better solution and build it into the "All In One" printer interface. This situation makes my "All In One" printer just 75% usable at this time!!

Got this one for the features. Wireless, duplex, fax, eprint were what I was looking for. It was simple to set up and works with my PC's and Mac's. Eprint is a great added feature and easy to set up and is remarkedly quick. Also it showed up automatically for the iPhone and iPad so no setup needed. Only reason I gave it only 4 stars is that I haven't had it long enough but so far it has been all I hoped for.

Works great

This replaced a 1 year old Photosmart 5514 that worked fine but was given away in the family to "upgrade" to the 7520. Only in use about 2 weeks it works great.. Router connect time is quick after being off. Like the large capacity paper tray, automatic two-sided print and photo paper tray.
Set-up was extremely easy until about half way thru when it left me hanging - was able to finish on my own without help. Operating info is sparse - it would be great if someone wrote a "Dummies" type operating manual. Overall, very satisfied with its capabilities and functioning.

Great....once it starts working

None of the start up methods worked....despite promises by the sales agent. After several google searches, I found drivers for current Max operating system. And then, after hours of trying to follow their instructions, I was running in less than five minutes. Sure would be smart if HP would just put a note in the box (instead of an outdated disc) telling you where to go to download the drivers! Now it prints, scans, prints photos and envelops.....everything is great!

Great Printer

This printer does it all better than my HP All in One C7280. The c7280 is still a better printer than most other manufacturers. The reason for updating to the 7520 was for the air print feature but now have say that it is an all around better printer. I cannot say how well the ink cartridges last, yet. The 7520 is the printer to have for all the features to do what ever you have to do.

buyer's regret

The product has the features I need (basic) and the price is low. I bought one less than a year ago and the print head went bad despite light use. The second printer (same product) was easy to connect but two weeks into using it it no longer prints anything from my desktop, only USB items. Tries to correct the problem following web instructions -- they are either incorrect or not applicable to this particular product.
