I like the convenience of the Photosmart All-In-One..enough that this is my third one!
However, I don't see the quality as I did in the others. The 7520 is a good size but it's awkward to use albeit it may take some getting used to. It was set up by a professional with a new computer and has been in use one day. I have not used the scanner nor have I run photos through.
The problems I find are: 1) VERY noisy--sounds like it's grinding to make gears move (noisy to the installer as well), 2) controls are hard to find, 3) the ink cartridges are not nearly as easy to remove or insert and 4) the paper is awkward to load, only a few at a time fit, if I use larger sheets, feeding them will be a pain! If there's ever a problem, I won't be able to grab paper fast enough.
My next one? Maybe not from HP! I went with this based on past experience but this has been a disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am very impressed with the functions, and Quality of the printing. This was bought as a replacement for another HP printer , that you no longer "support".
The software CD that was received with the printer, was defective and I have received a replacement one from HP. I worked as a Quality Engineer, for over 40 years and know good Quality when I see it. I hope that it continues to function correctly for a long time, with no problems.

OK but lacks scan to searchable pdf

the 7520 does not have the ability to scan to a searchable pdf. My 7 year old 3210 xi photosmart had that choice. I was told by HP customer service that that feature was discontinued as a cost saving measure to avoid the licensing costs from the ocr software supplier. They also said that the searchable files are bigger than the regular pdf. That should be a choice that the user makes, not HP. Other than that, it is a great printer.

I am an HP loyal customer. I had my last printer 7 yrs and loved it! I hope that this unit is as reliable. Only thing I don't like is the vibration it creates when printing.

Purchased my new HP Photosmart 7520 because I was so happy with my last HP printer. Am not disappointed. Prints quickly, quietly, & in vivid color. Use it to print for my own pleasure as well as for our small business. Print posters, signs, mailings, labels, and all stationary I need. Also make all my own greeting cards. Love my printer.

The low ink notifiction is extremely aggravating - it turns off after a few seconds and then just keeps printing. If you have several photos in the que, they are ruined so you waste paper, time and ink from the other cartridges. There needs to be a feature where when an ink cartridge is low the printer STOPS until a new cartridge is inserted in order to stop wasting my photo paper, my time and the cost of my other ink cartridges.

I have set up and used the ePrint feature - computer (wireless), tablet, netbook and smartphone. The set up was very easy and works very well.
I prefer multiple color cartidges to single color cartidge printer. This is the best economic option. HP inks are really innovative - brilliant and quick-drying.
The sheet feeder is a must have option for me, so the e7520 was my choice. I do a fair amount of faxing and scanning multipl-page documents.
