Sorry we bought this machine

Wow, after reading all the reviews at different sources, I believed this would be the best washing machine ever. Wrong! It gets out of balance so often that I can't leave the immediate area so I can stop it from refilling to try to balance. Clothes are not getting as clean as my old front loader (I'm using same detergent). More lint in the dryer means that clothes are wearing out more. And I'm normal height and still have problems reaching small things from the bottom.
This big investment will be in our future for a long time unfortunately.

WORST MACHINE I HAVE EVER OWNED
on December 12, 2014

Words can not express what a burden this washing machine is to me. It sometimes takes 3 hours to wash a load of clothes, and that does not include drying time. If the load is not perfectly balanced, it keeps adding water, drains it and repeats. I have to babysit this machine so I don't drain the water supply.
This is the 5th machine I have owned, and by far the worst. And I thought LG was a reputable brand. I won't be buying it again.

Make sure it is level

I don't typically provide reviews, but thought this could be helpful to others. I, as well as many other who have posted on the internet, have had a problem with constantly occurring unbalanced loads. Guidance by the manufacture with regard to load size, item distribution and fabric density was laughable and useless. Then I found a note on the web recommending I re-level the washer. Although it was only a hair out of level, fixing it did the trick, reducing out of balance issues by about 90 percent.
Pros: Performance, Quality

Poor design & function!

We have had this washer for over a year and it's awful! It keeps unbalancing then adding water to re-balance, so it takes hours to do one load. That it not energy efficient at all. We read only good reviews so we spent the extra money and now we really regret it. Should have stuck with the old-fashioned agitator washer.

Terrible Terrible Purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this washer about three years ago after reviewing a number washers. We loved the large capacity - as we do ALOT of laundry with three boys. But soon to discover that the washer is hyper sensitive and keeps refilling the tub to "balance" the tub. I can't even fathom how much water we've wasted...some loads have filled and refilled at least 2-3 times! It seems when I fill the washer to capacity, it doesn't become unbalanced, but once I put a smaller load in - there is the "UE' error and the gallons of wasted water. I wish we could just turn off whatever is making it need to refill multiple times. So we finally had enough - and are going to get a new washer - that is NOT made by LG. We probably could have purchased a new washer or two - with all the money we spent on refilling the washer. Not efficient at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this Washer a couple years ago and since Day One we've had nothing but problems. Service has been done probably 8 times and still the same issue. Unbalanced Recovery Over and Over and Over. Would never recommend LG to anyone looking for a washing machine.

Fair Review

I dislike giving a 5 star rating because I feel they are unbelievable. However, this machine deserves the 5 stars. I read all of the reviews on several sites for the LG washing machine. After reading all of the negative reviews I was very nervous and almost cancelled my order. I decided I have 30 days for a return so I will give this machine a try. I tested each feature. I washed everything from delicate to bulky, very small to very large loads, and lightly soiled to heavily soiled. This machine cleans the clothes, they come out of the machine ready to dry or hang. This machine did not tear up the clothes, become unbalanced, take over 2 hours to wash a load of clothes, or wash only the items on top as the reviews stated.
If YOU load the machine properly it will not get off balanced. All of the clothes get throughly cleaned. I have 8 foot ceiling with a 42 cabinet and it fits with the lid folded. The clothes are noticeably cleaner.

loads taking 2+ hours. keeps adding water

Seemed like a good idea; lousy results. After having new feet & new struts installed, it STILL cannot handle a larger load of towels. Not filling up tub all the way, either. Machine automatically keeps adding water & running again...and again...and again. And then Sears tech support (where I bought it) has nerve to tell me that I'm NOT supposed to run a full load of towels, because it puts too much stress on the unit. What's the point of a large capacity machine if I can't run a large load of towels? Seems like I bought a poorly made unit dressed up in a fancy package.
Pros: lousy balancing, need_new_washer, help me lg
