Nothing but headaches

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate this washer. It goes imbalanced almost every load and takes 90-120 longer than normal load. I purchased it Jan 2014 after Consumers Report rated it high. We hate doing the wash never knowing if it will stay balanced. A repairman finally got LG to replace and upgrade our control board after LG customer service, Roland amd Leo, said there were no recalls or that we were past warranty. I know how to wash clothes properly. I hope LG finally does something. Do not buy unless you want to babysit your washer.

Clothes sensor does not work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am beyond exasperated with this machine. It does not adjust the water regardless of load size. Only a couple of inches of water are in the tub and it's usually barely visible through the clothes. If the lid is raised during "add clothes" the washer fills to the very top, even if no clothes were added. So the only water levels I can get are practically empty and totally full. I'll never buy another LG washer. It's only three years old but I've limped along with it long enough and am now going to buy a different washer, not one that "senses" water needs.

Loads of All sizes always go Uneven
on May 22, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we first bought the washer, it seemed to work well. After just one year we started to notice that the Uneven(UE) error code would come up sometimes. Maybe once out of every 10-20 loads. When you redistributed the load as recommended it would typically run through the remainder of the cycle. As time has gone on, we are now getting Uneven(UE) error code in every 1-3 loads. Also, it usually won't finish the cycle even when the load is redistributed. It will start again and give the Uneven(UE) code again. This is filling the tub with water 3 times for every Uneven (UE) error code (sometimes it is filling at least 10 times before we can get a cycle to finish), what a great waste of water for this Energy Star washing machine. For only having the machine 4 years, I am ready to throw it out and go buy a new one with how frustrating this has become.

Waste of money
on March 23, 2019

We purchased this washer in 2015 because it was supposed to be energy efficient and it certainly is not. Almost e very load says it's off balance even though it is level according to the booklet it came with. It wastes water by filling, emptying and refilling just to get a load to be unbalanced. after three tries it will stop, no matter how many times you adjust the load it usually does not fix it. I have wasted more time babysitting this washer so I can catch it before it stops, spins out the water and refills again. My clothes don't come clean, it wastes water and electricity.

Waste of water!

This machine is horrible! It doesn’t wash your clothes properly because it doesn’t fill the tank with enough water, and many times in the spin cycle, it stops and drain the water and fill it again... WASTE OF WATER!,, especially when you live and have to pay top dollar for water..

Worst washing machine ever
on May 12, 2020

I’ve had this washer for about 4-5 years now. Never have I had to babysit a washer until this one. I’m constantly rearranging the clothes. On many, many loads, I have pulled out every garment and put them back in carefully (the washer itself could never arrange it so evenly) and yet it still comes up out of balance and tries to fill the tub with water(hence the babysitting). I’ll never buy an LG product again. EVER!

Get ready to sit by your washer

Worked great first couple of years then it constantly reads uneven reading. It refills and tries to balance but doesn’t. You have to pull things out and replace etc. The cycles go for over an hour + for a load.

Lasted 4 Years
on August 23, 2020
Posted by: SDcustomer
from San Diego, CA
This washer lasted 4 years for a family of 4 before having problems that won't be worth repairing. It is a terrible product. From day 1, it has never finished within the amount of time specified. Speed wash takes almost 1 hour and cleans poorly. It can only handle large loads on the bulky bedding cycle, which is like a gentle cycle. Regular cycles hold as much as small old-style top loader. It is incapable of washing large loads well. As it has aged, it overfills and wastes water. It has errors that stop it mid-cycle, but it sometimes works again if you cut power and restart. There should be laws against producing items as short-lived and unreliable as this one.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
