Lid won’t stay up

Purchased a few years ago and all of a sudden the lid won’t stay up when you want to load the machine. A previous review mentioned that their lid broke (not sure what they meant) and that there were no repair parts. So if this true I don’t want to waste money on a repair call

The lid assembly for the WT1101CW is a poor design. It broke within the first year of purchasing the washer and it was replaced. Four years later the lid is broken again. The frustrating thing is the lid assembly is no longer available. I cannot purchase a replacement part. My only option today is to purchase a new machine. It will not be an LG washer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't wash my heavy terry cloth robes or other heavy articles without the machine getting stuck on the rinse cycle. I have to stop the machine and remove the robe and squeeze out by hand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in 2014. The motor failed this year (2021), and it was still under warrantee. So, an LG mechanic came and replaced the motor. He was professional. It now works like new again. I think I'm going to have this washer for years to come.

Discontinued due to POOR DESIGN

This washer and matching dryer were gifts so we can't complain but we're compelled to warn others of this poorly designed machine. The washer is marginally effective at washing clothes, however, it costs far more to run than our previous heavy-duty top loader. The LP holds similar size loads and uses less water but the normal cycle takes 57 minutes. Heavy soil and white loads take over an hour - all cycles take more than twice the time of the old machine. We use less water and detergent but much more time and electricity. The companion gas dryer is noticeably less effective as well so doing the laundry takes much longer. Clothes may be less tangled but they don't smell fresh, especially when using Free & Clear detergents that lack the perfumed scents. Clothes don't get saturated enough to soak out odors. The most obvious design flaw is the location of the control panel on the top surface at the front of the machine, right where the glass lid opens - a very precarious position. Slide your laundry basket off the top and scratch the glass or spill a few drops of detergent/bleach and short out the expensive control panel. These epic design flaws have since been corrected.
