Terrible Machine
on June 21, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this machine for a few years now and I miss my old machine terribly! The only plus is the larger load capability. Other than that, it doesn't use an adequate amount of water so I usually use the bedding setting which fills up more. I dont feel like my clothes get as clean as they used to. I also have kids and items of clothing that I used to be able to get stains out of using the same detergent are no longer removed by this washing machine.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Doesn't get clothes as clean as I'd like

Clothes don't come out clean every time. You just can't agitate well with a top loader that uses clothes to agitate vs the agitator in the traditional top loader. We also have hard water which contributes to the issue. We now use a water softener with some improvement. Features are cool and the machine is very quiet. If using powder many times it doesn't rinse well.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, easy to use

Every load stops due to UE error
on November 9, 2017

My machine is only 3.5 years old and for at least the last 1.5 years I have been battling with the constant UE and ue errors on the machine. Nothing seems to help with the problem (it is level, I try to redistribute load by hand- although it never appears to need it, I've tried low spin speed and no spin, all different wash types). Even when the machine does not appear out of balance, the cycle will stop and need to be restarted multiple times. It typically takes me 3-4 hours (and probably 100's of gallons of water) to wash a single load. When the machine does work correctly (maybe 10% of the time) it is great and I love it. It gets the clothes almost completely dry and cuts down on my dry time! But 90% of the time its a nightmare! :(

TRASH TRASH TRASH - avoid at all costs

This is the worst washing machine I have ever purchased. The balancing feature has never worked properly and constantly goes to the UE setting. Every single load takes 6-7 hours because it keeps filling the entire drum with water during the spin cycle. This washing machine is the most inefficient piece of garbage I have ever purchased.
I called customer service and they will send someone out for $125 plus and hourly charge for labor.

Worst washer ever!
on April 2, 2018

I have had nothing but problems with this washer from day one. I called within the first month to report the unbalanced error code I received almost every time I did a load of laundry. I was told this was not a warranty issue and to monitor the wash and re-adjust the clothes if needed. The machine has needed numerous repairs over the course of five years and now it is completely useless. I will say it made it more than the year and half that my LG dish washer lasted. I will never buy an LG product again. My mother has had the same washer and dishwasher for 16 years without issue, nothing is made with any quality. I get that the washer is five years old, but when you buy home appliances you don't expect to replace them so quickly.

Rinses clothes doesn't wash them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate this machine, it doesn't get clothes clean, My white clothes look the worst I have ever seen them in the 48 years we have been married. We were told it would take 35 minutes to wash but it actually on average takes 54 minutes and to use THE soak cycle takes 124 minutes. HATE IT....... p.s. I put Quality a 5 star, it is beautiful and runs but it just doesn't clean clothes. We have recently purchased a machine with an agitator. We are retired and this didn't do anything for our budget.

Items in the washer can be washed more thoroughly by selecting the wash cycle that best suits the items that are being washed. For information regarding the cycles please refer to the following help library article: http://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT00000305-1436976925348-cycles-and-options ^CP

6 years only

My washer was functioning ok sometimes error because was not balance. Now I can ear the pump running all the time even if I turn the power off. I have to disconnect the washer for the pump to stop running. I am disappointed for the short life of the “Great washer”. In top of that customer service was very rude and definitely I will not pay 125 dlls just to check what is wrong with the washer because I probably will have to pay for parts and service to be a total of approximately 300 dlls and they guarantee only for 90 days I better get a new one (other brand) for 600.

After a few years it broke. It gave the OE error code, but pump was working fine. The warranty was expired and it was costly to repair it. However, the repair didn’t even match the code.

The OE error code indicates that the washer is experiencing an issue with the draining. This error will display if the washer is unable to drain the water for 13 minutes.

If the washer is displaying the OE error code, pull the washer away from the wall far enough to check that the drain hose is not bent, or has become pinched between the back of the washer and the wall.

After the drain hose has been inspected, perform a SPIN ONLY cycle on the washer to see if the drain issue is resolved.

Press POWER to turn the washer on.

Press the SPECIAL USE key until SPIN ONLY is lit.

Press the START/PAUSE button to begin the cycle.

The unit should begin a SPIN ONLY cycle and attempt to drain any remaining water that is inside the washer.

If your model does not have a SPIN ONLY, use this Alternative Method to SPIN ONLY.

If the OE code re-appears, the washer will require a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.

If you were able to run the SPIN ONLY cycle with no issues, perform a TUB CLEAN cycle to wash away any buildup that may have formed while the OE error code was displayed.
