Consumer Reports rated this washer very highly and I could not agree with them more. This washer outperforms my old washer in every possible way. I have already used more functions of this washer in one month than I did in fifteen years with the old one.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
My husband keeps complaining that it does not agitate the clothes the way he is used to (older agitators). I keep telling him that is how they were engineered. It still cleaned my old, grungy, stained throw pillows and I showed it to my husband to his amazement. Still getting used to this new top-load HE washer, but so far so good.
Overall, the design of the machine is very good; easy to use and has more options than most people need or use. However, there is a big problem with this machine regarding load balancing. Virtually every load requires intervention by me to redistribute laundry so the cycle will proceed. To make it more annoying, all of the low water use machines have very long wash cycles because they rely upon soaking and gentle clothes movement to wash instead of an agitator. This make the cycle time in excess of an hour minimum. Every time the machine stops due to load imbalance it adds another 10 minutes. It takes an hour and a half to finish one load and that's only if you are aware that the machine has stopped and is waiting for you to redistribute laundry.
Also, I'm not sure how energy efficient this actually is since every time it senses an imbalance it stops to add more water so it can move clothes around to a more balanced condition (which apparently doesn't work very well). Of course the water usage numbers don't take all the additional water used into account when giving you efficiency ratings.
Think carefully about how much your time is worth to babysit this machine while it decides if it can spin clothes dry or not. LG needs to re-engineer this to accommodate better load balancing.

I love my LG Washer. It is really quiet and I love that I can wash a comforter in it. It is huge inside. I absolutely love doing wash in my new washer.

I like it much better than my old front load hg washer except for the depth. I need to use a step stool to get to the bottom. I like that you can air out the washer without having to leave the top open
The delay wash start makes me feel like I got a jump on my day when it starts at 6am. It fits so much more laundry then my old top load with the center spin column that i have cut down the number of days I do laundry from 3 to 2 days a week. The new washer has saved on drying time. It spins out the laundry so well that I have decreased my dry time by 10min! Now I just need a new dryer:)
