Great Machine
on December 30, 2020
Posted by: Joe LG G4 owner
from North West NJ
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this machine for 3 years now and it is fantastic. Large load capacity, multiple cleaning cycles. The ability to wash bulky bedding. All the different rinse cycles. I was skeptical at first with the low water level but this machine is great. Very pleased with my purchase.
Pros: ease of use, Performance, Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought a lemon!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this machine in 2013 & I’ve had it repaired 4 times in 7 years. Two times it was repaired for the same problem, unfortunately the part broke after the warranty expired. I have other LG appliances but my washing machine has been a lemon!
Pros: ease of use

Washing nightmare

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the first load it was a disaster, it pushes clothes into a wad. It acts like a tea bag pushing the dirt into the wad where it stays, leaving streaks in cloths. Needs two rinse cycles to get clothes remotely clean, Never buy another one again.

Washer builds up mold!
on November 21, 2020
Posted by: silbe061
from Minneapolis,MN
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this washer for about 6 years now. I've noticed a horrible smell from the washer inside the tub. I've run the tub clean about 3 times. I took out the tray for where you pour in the laundry detergent and saw that the underside of the tray has tons of mold! Then I looked underneath the rim of the top of the drum and noticed mold buildup as well which I can't get to because it's hard to get anything in there to scrub it clean. And there's other places where I have mold growing as well! I tried cleaning all the areas that I could and reran the tub clean. Then reran a load of clothes but they still stink! It seems cleaning the washer is a pain in the you know what! We do follow LG's recommendation of leaving the top cover open to let it dry out after each load but it doesn't seem to help enough. If I didn't leave that cover open, I'd probably have this issue in the first year perhaps, who knows! I'd recommend not buying a high-efficiency washing machine like this one and just go with a conventional washer. The load sensing function seems like more things that can break over time. Just give me the option to select small, medium, large, and extra large load selections so you don't need design a load sensing function into your washers, which of course frustrates lots of people on this forum. We don't need high-efficiency, we just need a washer that works! And figure out a way to vent your washers better so I don't have to wash my washer because of mold growth! The concept of having to wash your washer because of mold growth seems like a design flaw of the washer from the get-go. My last washer was 20 years old and I never had to wash it because of mold! Overall, I won't buy an LG washer because of improper venting to inhibit mold growth and also the load-sensing function.

I bought model WT1101CW based on some reviews-back in 2014. Without a doubt, the best washing machine I have ever owned. In October of 2020 I moved, leaving my washing machine with the new owners. Sadly, when I went to buy one for my new home, the model is discontinued. It was a fantastic machine. I'll buy another LG-I just hope it's as good.

Junk -- don't waste your money.

Bought this product in Sept 2014. After about 6 months, we started to get the uE code errors. Unbalanced. Right. Then the thing would eventually stop and we would get the dreaded UE error. LG gives us "consumer training" on how to use the device. Wash items that weigh the same together. Can't wash 8 washcloths together that weigh the same as that is a "too light" load. Well I only have 8 washcloths and they have to be washed together with nothing else. Can't wash a heavy blanket. That's too heavy. Put the heavier sweatpants on the bottom and the socks and undies on top. That doesn't work either. Constantly unbalanced and you have to stop what YOU are doing to rearrange the load. It is the CONSUMER's issue. Can you imagine a dishwasher that stopped working mid-cycle and required you to move around the dishes and glasses before it would continue? Or what if you don't have a balanced load in the passenger area of your car so it would stop on the highway and you had to get out and rebalance your passenger load before your car would start back up -- on the highway? Crazy. Also this washer is not an Energy Star appliance as this thing uses a ton of water. I'm on a well and we are lucky to not have a water bill but we still have to pay for electricity on these 4 hour "unfinished" loads when the washer just gives up after refilling several times. I just ran a Tub Clean and got the UE error (the capital letters this time). LG Twitter help is not helpful and gave me the same "education" about having to stop the washer and rebalance the load manually. What load? So much for a "convenience" appliance. What a joke. Stay away.
