[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my LG Washer for 3 years. I would recommend this washer over and over. I've never had any issues. My husband will totally soil his clothes at work and aside from obvious grease, paint and oil stains- the "dirt" is always washed out. Those other stains will always require a little elbow grease prior to throwing into ANY washer. When I first bought the washer, I would arrange my clothes in the drum, wanting to avoid balance issues. Today- I dump the clothes in and hit go. The machine balances itself - no problems. I also have the matching dryer and I'd give it 5 stars as well.
I've had this machine for 3-4 years and nothing comes out clean. Even re-rinsing does not remove soap scum residue and lint on dark/cotton clothing. Does not clean whites either. Everything comes out dingy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry to hear, if you unit is leaving "soap scum" or residue on your clothing, it is an indication the unit has not had the maintenance performed. The unit does require regular cleanings as per the manual. Please see the link below or the maintenance section of your manual. ^AC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we first bought the washer, it seemed to work well. After just one year we started to notice that the Uneven(UE) error code would come up sometimes. Maybe once out of every 10-20 loads. When you redistributed the load as recommended it would typically run through the remainder of the cycle. As time has gone on, we are now getting Uneven(UE) error code in every 1-3 loads. Also, it usually won't finish the cycle even when the load is redistributed. It will start again and give the Uneven(UE) code again. This is filling the tub with water 3 times for every Uneven (UE) error code (sometimes it is filling at least 10 times before we can get a cycle to finish), what a great waste of water for this Energy Star washing machine. For only having the machine 4 years, I am ready to throw it out and go buy a new one with how frustrating this has become.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate this machine, it doesn't get clothes clean, My white clothes look the worst I have ever seen them in the 48 years we have been married. We were told it would take 35 minutes to wash but it actually on average takes 54 minutes and to use THE soak cycle takes 124 minutes. HATE IT....... p.s. I put Quality a 5 star, it is beautiful and runs but it just doesn't clean clothes. We have recently purchased a machine with an agitator. We are retired and this didn't do anything for our budget.

Items in the washer can be washed more thoroughly by selecting the wash cycle that best suits the items that are being washed. For information regarding the cycles please refer to the following help library article: http://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT00000305-1436976925348-cycles-and-options ^CP
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had very high hopes for this after researching on various sites and reading good reviews. Unfortunately, my experience has been less than positive. First, it does a poor job of washing clothes. It is okay with things that are lightly soiled, however my work clothes, which are normally covered with bits of dried joint compound seem to be too much of a challenge. Joint compound is water soluble and has never been an issue with any other washer I have used, regardless of the water temperature. Even after knocking any of the bigger bits off before washing using the heavy duty setting, with an extra rinse, they still do not come clean. My other complaint is the residue left on any wash load, unless using the extra rinse option. Finally, the problem I am having now is the washer won't finish the spin cycle no matter how the clothes are positioned. It keeps resetting back to rinse, unless I monitor it and turn it off, with very wet clothes to deal with. This is after just over 3 years of use at 3-4 small to medium sized loads of wash per week. The one thing I did like about it when working was the high speed spin. Clothes came out very dry, requiring very little time in the dryer to finish them off. The bottom line...I would not recommend this unless your clothes don't get too soiled and you have a lot of patience and time.

Hello mimiglo, this model does not have an option to add water, however, the Add Garment feature automatically adds water, so if you open and close the lid while that indicator is on, it will assume garments have been added and increase the water supply. This may help with your compound issue. Also , we do recommend you pretreat your clothing since this is an HE unit and does use a lot less water. If you use the Bedding/Bulky cycle, it uses the most water of any cycle. ^AC
I have had nothing but problems with this washer from day one. I called within the first month to report the unbalanced error code I received almost every time I did a load of laundry. I was told this was not a warranty issue and to monitor the wash and re-adjust the clothes if needed. The machine has needed numerous repairs over the course of five years and now it is completely useless. I will say it made it more than the year and half that my LG dish washer lasted. I will never buy an LG product again. My mother has had the same washer and dishwasher for 16 years without issue, nothing is made with any quality. I get that the washer is five years old, but when you buy home appliances you don't expect to replace them so quickly.
