terrible product

About half of the loads trigger the unbalanced error, and then have to baby sit it and re-arrange the load a handful of times before it will finish. 2+ hours a load. We cannot identify a reason for this; we have read the manual and all the online advice. Owned it for a year. Stinks too; we have to use SmellyWasher regularly.

Perfect example of scrap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this washer and accompanying dryer for 3 years. The dryer is wonderful and I have no complaints. The washer is incapable of washing without becoming "uneven". We have tried as suggested by placing clothing by weight around the drum like a donut, small/large loads, making sure the washer is level and nothing works. I despise this washer so much that I am considering taking it somewhere to have it crushed because I could not in good conscience sell it or give it to another person. I feel taken advantage of for spending the amount of money that I did on this piece of garbage.

Junk!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this machine less than 3 years ago. If you had asked me a month ago how I felt about it, I would have given it 5 stars. But then the dreaded UE code started to appear multiple times in every wash load. It even appeared when the tub was empty in a Tub Clean cycle! How can the load be UnEven when there is no load? I have googled this problem and found out it is quite common and difficult/expensive to fix. It takes HOURS to complete one load. Sometimes I just give up and hand wring the wet clothes (the UE always appears during the rinse/spin cycle) and put them in the dryer. I have also shut off the power and restarted the machine in the Spin Only cycle. Don't know how much longer I can handle this before buying a new one. Not happy with LG.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

UE codes galore

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 80% of wash cycles result in UE code. The washer is 2 years old. Enough said! Poor design and poor investment.

Uneven load every time
on February 16, 2018

I bought this washing machine three years ago. There has not been one day that I use this that the load doesn’t go on even. It’s supposed to be economical with water. I don’t see how it could be if for every uneven load the entire machine will fill with water to rebalance. It goes through this cycle three times. And then when you go to get your wash out of the machine it’s not done. It will take me days to do one load of Laundry. I will not be keeping this machine much longer will though functionality wise it should work. I will be investing in a different machine in the very near future just so that I don’t have to spend a week washing the same load

Goes “uneven” ALL THE TIME.

I’ve had this washer for years, got it new. About 75% of the time it goes “uneven”. Too many clothes, not enough, wrong mix of clothing weights combined together, it rarely matters. Uses more water as it TRIES to sort itself out, never helps. Just takes longer and uses more water.
Never getting a model with these “features” ever again.

Great machine BUT ...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the washer and dryer, am delighted with the look and overall performance but have the following issue which I complained to LG about over 2 years ago and again recently, namely my clothes get marked - maybe 1 item in the load and not every wash cycle, and the marks looks as if you've splashed yourself with cooking oil. LG initially told
me to use Affresh or Tide tub cleaner which I have been doing for over 2 years but the problem persists. I have had to throw out a lot of items of clothing because these marks do not disappear.
Last week, an LG approved technician came out, it cost me $90 because he said there was nothing actually wrong with the machine and suggested I do a bleach wash, which I did and also switch to Tide and only Tide. I have since done 2 small loads, 1 with light colors and both pairs of white pants came out with orange marks - I had nothing even resembling that color in the load and the other load with darker colors, produced the usual oily looking streaks on a pair of leggings that I will need to throw out. The orange looking marks have diminished by scrubbing after the application of a stain remover, but one pair of pants was a brand new pair of MK jeans, so I am not a happy camper!
Today I have done another bleach wash followed up by a plain rinse and spin, so hopefully everything "tainted" in the residue beneath the drum which I believe a liquid reserve is always there.
I have looked at other reviews and don't see other people having this issue - they have others that I don't, but this is costing me money in garments/sheets that I have to discard, additional electric/water in running additional tub cleans, not to mention the products.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, easy to use

Worst washer ever!!!!!!

We have had this washer for 5 years and it has had issues from the very beginning. It has leaked, has constant error messages and has Uneven Loads no matter how many times we have reset it- even when we have professionals come to do it. For the past 6 weeks we have had the repair people here 4 times and have been able to use the washer for about 4 days total. We will never purchase an LG product again and we are spreading the word to our friends and family as well.
