Great machine!

Love it. I've had a few glitches with the balancing thing, but even the speed and cold wash functions work great. Love the bulky load function. My daughter is a diesel mechanic...she brings some dirty clothes home, but even she has no complaints about our new washer. Can't wait to be able to afford the matching dryer!

This washer is my new favorite toy ! I've prided myself in having the cleanest wash on the block since I was 15 years old and my new LG will definitely make me reigning queen. I love the cycle selections, the fact that I can soak a load, add something I found after I started to wash ... and most of all the water economy.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Balance problem

Can not recommend this washer. Do not see how it can save water and electricity, Loads are constantly going off balance, causing machine to stop final spin cycle and refill with water. Sometimes it will correct itself and finish cycle. Others times it turned off with an error message.
Doing a load now. Two bath towels, two hand towels,
Two wash cloths, five pairs men's briefs. 51 minute load now approaching 1 & 1/2 hours.
Machine does a good job of cleaning, I just never know when it will, or if it will complete the job.

I love my washer! Having a tub without a center wringer is the best thing when it comes to loading the clothes. The stainless tub is also awesome and always looks so clean. I don't know how the clothes come clean but I don't have any complaints, Stains are gone! The wringer works so well they dry in no time at all.
I appreciate the appearance of it as it's the first thing you see coming in the side door which everyone uses. The Highly recommend it!!

I love this washing machine.

We put this washer in our vacation home when the other washer died. I wanted the large tub to be able to wash comforters, beach towels and bedding from our family and guests. This machine is perfect for BIG loads! It is quiet and uses the least water possible by gauging the amount needed for each load. In Califonia this is imperiative due to our current drought conditions. The controls are conveniently located in the front and easy to use once you understand all the options. The only downside is that I don't have the same machine in my regular house.
Pros: Performance, easy to use

Cleans the clothes but....

This machine does an ok job at cleaning your clothes, but the cycles are longer than my previous machine. And sometimes I look at how it washes the clothes and wonder how they do come clean. From observing the machine while washing the clothes there always seems to be clothes that are not entirely wet, but are rather dry on the top of the article of clothing. For me the longer wash cycles do not create a real hardship, but if you have a family this could create issues. It actually takes longer to wash the clothes than to dry the clothes. I would still prefer to be able to adjust the water level sometimes myself. I would also like to be able to add additional items to the load sometimes, say a sock etc. There are features that I like too, such as, extra rinse, spin only etc. I would recommend for a small family, but not a large family.

Beware - limitations on what you can wash!

I bought this based on its Consumer Reports rating. Boy was that a mistake. I'd give this zero stars if the tool would let me. This washing machine has huge inadequacies that make its use a time-consuming, life sucking waste.
Unless you only wash medium sized loads that contains items of all the same weight, don't buy this machine. You get the 'UE' error - uneven load if you try to wash:
1. small loads
2. large loads
3. bulky items
I feel like I've tried everything with this machine, including two visits from repair men who both gave me good tips on how to get it to work for medium loads. But it just isn't well suited for average use in a busy home.
