Maybe too big if you are short

Huge capacity and Consumer Reports has this unit right at the top. Seems to work great so far but some things you should be aware of. Tap Cold setting allows some hot water in. We never use it after learning that, just Cold or Warm. There is a special cycle if you use fabric softener. It adds 10 minutes to the cycle time. The tub is so deep that my wife has trouble reaching items out of the bottom. I would say if you are less than 5'2", you may want a different unit.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

High Ratings and Cutting Edge Technology

I puchased this model because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports as an oustanding washer/dryer combo. This weighed heavily on my purchase decision because I will soon need a dryer While it lacks some features, it far exceeded my needs. The drum allows me to wash bulky bedding with ease. I wash one load of clothes every day and have never had an unbalanced load (thanks to the tips I received by registering my e-mail at lg.com)! My favorite features are TubClean and the foldback handle, which allow me to keep my washing machine free of mold and mildew.. My next cellphone will definitely be a smartphone so I can take advantage of Smart Diagnosis to troubleshoot any problems without the cost of a repair call.

OK so this washer is very fancy, nice lights and buzzers and stuff. Glass lid that you can see what's going on. It just should NOT take 1 hour and 11 minutes to wash cloths!!!! I had been going to the laundromat. Put in $2.50 and in 20 minutes it's done. Choose the normal wash on this machine 1 hour and 11 minutes??? WTF! And it seams to take for ever for it to "load sense" so it can be smoooooth! Forget that, just wash my cloths!!! OMG this thing shakes, shimmy's makes noses adds a little water here and there. Another thing, take the glass out because you tend to look in when it's in operation and you see your cloths. Well normally you would see a lot of action. Not with this machine. If your shirt is on top it never gets cycled down and up again, it seams to just sit there doing nothing. But on it's defense my cloths are very clean. In the end I ask myself would I buy this machine again? I don't think so. Modern wash machines should save you time not cost you time. It seams like LG has chosen to produce a very smooth operating machine at the expense of my time.
Pros: easy to use, Quality

Affordable and Quiet

As our household has shrunk and we no longer have kids at home, we did not need a washer with a huge capacity. This washer seemed to fit our needs. The one thing we were really amazed to find out is that it operates very quietly. One drawback is the deep tub that can be hard to reach but it works great.

This product has design flaws

I purchased this washer but returned it to the store. You cannot Presoak a load of laundry and also use Fabric Softener in the Rinse. You must pick one option or the other. I wanted to do both. Maybe I could have used a Rinse/Spin cycle and then returned to the machine and set up for a Wash cycle but why should I have to double my workload?
Also, the vent on the door (which is meant to keep mildew from growing) lets a lot of smells out. Strong odors from both dirty water and bleach permeated my laundry room.
I did like the control panel's location at the front of the washer. And the glass door for viewing the laundry's progress.

Balance problem
on July 13, 2015

Can not recommend this washer. Do not see how it can save water and electricity, Loads are constantly going off balance, causing machine to stop final spin cycle and refill with water. Sometimes it will correct itself and finish cycle. Others times it turned off with an error message.
Doing a load now. Two bath towels, two hand towels,
Two wash cloths, five pairs men's briefs. 51 minute load now approaching 1 & 1/2 hours.
Machine does a good job of cleaning, I just never know when it will, or if it will complete the job.
Pros: not happy

The best top-loader I've had

I really like this washing machine. The pros: quiet, no problems with out-of-balance loads as I had in past top-loaders (I've never had a front-loader, and this is my 5th top-loader). The cons: the tub is deep and some people might have a problem getting items from the bottom. A common complaint of high efficiency washers is too little water, and that's true of this one. What I consider average soil levels don't always get clean without using the heavy soil feature. But,all in all, I'm still happy with it and have no regrets on the purchase.

Done with LG products

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second washer we have had. Best Buy replaced the first one because LG could not get a new logic board delivered, to fix the "UE" errors that constantly pop up. Now the replacement washer even gives UE errors when it runs a "Tub Clean"...with nothing in it. This along with the LG TV we own that just died tells me this is nothing but junk. I will re replacing both of these LG products with other vendors, and would never recommend an LG product to anyone.
