Big load balancing problem on this machine

Overall, the design of the machine is very good; easy to use and has more options than most people need or use. However, there is a big problem with this machine regarding load balancing. Virtually every load requires intervention by me to redistribute laundry so the cycle will proceed. To make it more annoying, all of the low water use machines have very long wash cycles because they rely upon soaking and gentle clothes movement to wash instead of an agitator. This make the cycle time in excess of an hour minimum. Every time the machine stops due to load imbalance it adds another 10 minutes. It takes an hour and a half to finish one load and that's only if you are aware that the machine has stopped and is waiting for you to redistribute laundry.
Also, I'm not sure how energy efficient this actually is since every time it senses an imbalance it stops to add more water so it can move clothes around to a more balanced condition (which apparently doesn't work very well). Of course the water usage numbers don't take all the additional water used into account when giving you efficiency ratings.
Think carefully about how much your time is worth to babysit this machine while it decides if it can spin clothes dry or not. LG needs to re-engineer this to accommodate better load balancing.

Not a lot of agitation, but still cleans

My husband keeps complaining that it does not agitate the clothes the way he is used to (older agitators). I keep telling him that is how they were engineered. It still cleaned my old, grungy, stained throw pillows and I showed it to my husband to his amazement. Still getting used to this new top-load HE washer, but so far so good.

Consumer Reports rated this washer very highly and I could not agree with them more. This washer outperforms my old washer in every possible way. I have already used more functions of this washer in one month than I did in fifteen years with the old one.

The top loading LG washer with the High Efficiency qualities has been a pleasant surprise to me. It is easy to use. The controls are up front and easy to access as well as understand. At first, I expected them to be complicated, but not so. The large tub is easy to fill and empty and also offers easy cleaning after use. I am able to wash KG sized bedding and I love that for my needs. So glad I checked out the LG and looking forward to having a long life with this machine! Bonus...it is quiet as well!

quiet, no odors that i hear some people complain about, can wash queen size comforters, clothes come out much drier than old washer cuts down dryer time

I have had this machine for one month. It does a great job on my clothes. I have also been doing fall cleaning, so a lot of curtains, rugs, blankets. No problem with anything.

Best Washer I've ever owned!

I bought this unit to replace my second set of front loaders and I couldn't be happier. We were do tired of having to deal with the constant cleaning and the smell that the front loader left in our clothes. When we reviewed this washer it was a no brainer not only because of its increased capacity but also because of its reviews and its great price. We absolutly love the controls being in the front of the washer and not having to lean over the washer to turn in on. I would recommend this to family and friends!
