Purchased several months ago. The door is too close to the floor, which makes it hard to reach and close with ease. I also find that the dry cycle doesn't always dry completely. I use "Finish" for drying, but it doesn't always help.

Motor lasts less than 5 years

LDS5540BB dishwasher odor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this dishwasher for a few years now and it stinks, as in has a bad odor, this started not long after purchase. Smells like fish or stinky feet. I use my dishwasher 1-2 times a week and if I don't pour bleach or vinegar in it pior to starting it the dishes will stink when done washing. Does not clean my silver wear well, always had to wash by hand after being washed in dishwasher, so no longer put in dishwasher. Dishes are wet due to no heating element. I have tried different detergents and with my water Finish works best. This dishwasher is quieter than others that I have had. Easy to use. I have other LG items that have worked great. TV 10+ years and Washing Machine 4 years

Cleans well when it's not broken

Our dishwasher is only three years old and we have had to fix it three times already. We like it when it's working--it cleans well and dries exceptionally well, but we will be buying a new, non-LG dishwasher just to avoid future errors. Our new LG oven is also already having errors.

Electrical Fire!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] PCB on front panel tried to catch fire 2 months after the 5 year warrenty expired! Luckly I found out where the electrical fire smell was comming from and disconected the power before it got worse. Still trying to get the smell out of my house a week later.

We bought this six years ago. I have had called the repairman once...although I don't remember exactly what the issue was. Whatever it was must have been fairly minor and has not repeated. Overall the dishwasher has been fine. I like that it is very quiet. I like the washing cycles and that it is programmable. I do not like the flexible racks....they do not stay up on their own. This happened within 3 years. They also rusted at the joints where they bend within 2 years or less. I am not sure that any energy efficient item cleans amazing but overall for the average person its fine. I am not replacing mine until it completely gives out. .
