Quiet, nice looking, smooth front

We like everything about the unit so far, except the top tray seems to stick a little when pulling it out. Only thing we changed was took the top off of the silverware racks, so as to accommodate all our different sized silverware.
Pros: Style/Design, Quality

Ultra-quiet dishwasher

Thoroughly pleased with this dishwasher. The quietness is incredible, don't have to delay start the wash cycle to run at night, though it is a feature on this dishwasher. Didn't think I'd like the silverware basket with it's individual slots, but it's proving to be a great way to separate the forks, spoons & knives -- makes it faster when unloading the utensil basket. Looks great with the LG stove that we purchased earlier this year.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings

The unit is sleek and modern. It is ultra quite, you can run this anytime and hardly know it is running.
The only problem is the design of the interior racks, they got that COMPLETELY fouled up.
Lower rack :The tines are adjustable yes, but when you try an put a dish in the tines just fall down, they do not hold well in any position and cannot be tightly secured. The tines are way to close together to allow bowls or plates to be put in and are not aligned well as noted in another's review.
Top rack: The pieces used to hold down glasses or utensils are useless, they are not needed and I had to remove them. Again the tines are too close together to allow small bowls to stand up.
Please go back and redesign the racks, otherwise the dishwasher runs brilliantly.

Love and Hate :)

DW cleans and dries the dishes great! That being said, my frustration level with loading the bottom rack is near it's final straw. The plates will NOT stand up straight! While they come out clean, they are basically laying in a pile on the rack. One of these day, I see myself just tossing them all in, whether they break or not, in a pile and turning it on...pretty much what they look like now....except they aren't broken. How hard could it be to design a rack where the plates stand up straight. My old DW from 1997 was excellent for that!!!!!

Great "quick" feature

My dishwasher does its job, quietly. The longer running features doesn't do as well as the quick one.

The one thing I would never do is use the small round balls of soap use the dry stuff works better. You will be amazed at the sound you have to listen to see if it is running best one we have ever had. We like the LG products we also bought a 3 door refrigerator 35cf and it is also great.

LG - LDS5540ST Dishwasher. Very Good to Excellent

Bought LG-LDS5540ST on recommendation of both our appliance repair professional as well as the appliance sales person at the store. I removed our old dishwasher, and installed the LG myself. Installation was very easy and took only a few minutes. The first time we used it we were impressed by how quiet it is. We are a family of six and do a load everyday. It washes the dishes very well and is much larger (inside) than our old washer. This is our first LG product and we will be buying more! This comes highly recommended.
