Runs quiet and looks nice, but hard to load

I have slowly but surely been replacing my appliances with stainless steel LG appliances including our washer and dryer, microwave, double oven with glass cooktop and most recently our dishwasher. I have been very happy with our other LG products, but this dishwasher has been a disappointment. I find it difficult to load glasses and cups in the top rack, they fit well in the outer two rows, but won't stay standing in the middle rows. I haven't had a problem with the bottom rack like other reviewers have mentioned and do like the feature of the adjustable tines. The wash cycle is quite long, but is very quiet. We have naturally soft well water, so I have never had a problem with foggy glasses, but it seems as though my glasses are starting to fog over, even though I am putting the rinse aid in the dispenser. Overall, this was a disappointing purchase, especially since I spent considerably more to purchase the LG brand.

Features, poorly thought out.

This dishwasher is a major disappointment. It's not easy to load (broken glasses), drying is not good, leaves a film on the door and utensils do not dry properly leaving a film on the items. The upper rack configuration is a joke, with it shape dishes do not sit flat or cannot fit in the space available. (Normal cups and glasses not oversized). Design on this unit is not functional at all. When unit finishes washing it does NOT have an indicator light showing dishes are done. Very disappointed with this unit. Having said that, the washer is very quite.

Big (interior volume), Quiet, Fast, and Easy

We purchased this to replace the dishwasher in a newer house that we had recently moved into. We hated using the old dishwasher. It was loud, didn't clean well, and had problems with the rack coming off the tracks. I had no problem paying a little more for a nicer unit considering our dishwasher gets used 1-2 times daily.
This particular unit has three wash heads so it does a great job getting things clean. It also only requires pushing two buttons to get started. This is one of my favorite home appliances now. The inverter direct drive is so quiet you have to look at the unit to see if it is on.
Pros: easy to use, Quality, quiet

Gets the Job Done

Things I like, quiet, easy functions, solid, stylish, low cost to run, adjustable upper rack, easy to install myself.
Things I don't like, my plates don't work so well with the rack tines. I should have tried a couple of my plates in the rack at the store before I decided on this one. My ceramic / stoneware plates can not fit standing up straight, too wide so they angle over to the side at a 45 degrees. Tines too close together. Loads get "full" and ready to run sooner because the bottom rack is not holding as much, due to the way the plates fit. Maybe if another bottom rack were offered by LG I would buy that and switch racks. Plastic / tupperware type items do not dry so well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The only thing we wish it had was an indicator light that the dishes are done that stayed on until you opened up the dishwasher

The good the bad and the SMELLY!
on August 23, 2013

The good: It is very quiet.
The bad: The moveable racks fall over all the time. No light to tell you when the dishes are clean.
The Smelly: If you do not wash your dishes every day, do not buy this dishwasher!
The odor will drive you nuts and, the support people were no help. All there suggestions I had already done.
I have had 3 dishwashers before this one and never had an odor problem. I was hoping to run it less often since it has a large capacity but instead I have to run it more to get rid of the smell!

High expectations fell flat

I always hate leaving negative reviews, so I'll start with the positive. The dishwasher looks great, and it's very quiet. I love the Easyrack Plus system for easily cleaning large items. Now on to the bad. When I spent this amount of money, I expected a much better product. Even under the extra dry setting, the dishes are always still wet, and I have to dry them before storing them in my cabinets. The buttons are a poor design. I have accidentally turned it off mid-cycle several times because the way the buttons are located. Even with the lock, the power button doesn't lock, so it's very easy to hit it and turn it off, and you can't start off where you left off. Also, it doesn't tell you if the dishes are clean, so if you don't unload them immediately and forget, as I tend to do sometimes, or if someone else comes along, there's no way to know if they are clean or dirty. Most times they are dirty, even after running a cycle. I clean my dishes pretty well before I load them, but even still this does not clean well at all. I can't tell you how many times I've had to rewash dishes after running them through this dishwasher. Very very disappointed in this brand new and very expensive dishwasher. My older cheaper one did a much better job.

Short life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit 3 years ago and it stopped cold and would not work. After 3 visits and over $400 for parts, I am paying half of what I originally paid for this when I bought it new. Do NOT buy it. I am disabled and cannot afford this on SSDI.
Pros: Style/Design
