I bought the mixer about 18 months ago. Love it however the motor burnt out! My American KitchenAid lasted 3 years and I would problem still have it if we didnt move to Australia.

Black Residue?

I just received my Artisan Stand Mixer in the Almond Cream colour! I have yet to try it out, but I bought it since I've started baking recently, in particular making macarons :)) The only thing that concerns me is that the wire whisk attachment has black residue when I touch it, even though I've already carefully hand washed it. If it isn't stainless steel like KitchenAid claims, and instead a metal such as aluminium that would explain it. I searched that black residue from metals such as aluminium isn't harmful however I'm extremely disappointed that KitchenAid's claims are not reflected in its products and that they've compromised the quality of their products.
