Make sure you get the right processor
on December 17, 2013

The specs for the B540 show it has a Core i5 processor. I ordered it but the one I received had a Pentium processor, a bit of a downgrade.
I contacted them and they offered to refund 10% of the purchase price ($75) or give me $100 in free accessories. I took the $75 refund rather than deal with returning the unit. Not sure what the price differential is between these two processors but I'll bet it is more than $75 so probably did not get a good deal? Props to their Customer Service for handling the issue promptly.
If they have have units in stock with the other processor, they just need to show that as an option for purchase instead of misleading me and others into thinking they are buying a unit with a Core i5.
Pros: Screen size
Cons: Processor

Good for home office entertainment but not for pro

IdeaCentre cannot be compared to ThinkCentre models in Lenovo Family. I got mine with i5 processor - 6Gb RAM, 1T HD. This All-in-One has saved my desk space. Like laptop but bigger screen with WIFI built-in. Great for working with general office apps, entertainment, internet browsing, watch movie. The downsize of it built-in video card is low end and low performance. So, game players should be aware of it.
Pros: Input/Output compatibility, Processor, Memory, Wireless card, Keyboard/peripherals, Screen size, Storage
Cons: Video card, Display resolution, Display performance

Lenovo All-In-One IdeaCentre B540

I have the 23" all-in-one desktop and I love it. The computer is very fast for navigation and opening programs. In addition, it is quick during boot up, which surprised me with a Windows OS. Actually, this computer works faster than my MAC, which I moved out of my bedroom to the kitchen nook for the kids. I really like the bluetooth interface that I can connect my bluetooth devices easily. The screen display is very sharp and the desktop takes up very little space. Also, I can slide my keyboard and mouse under the screen after use.

My Windows 8 Desktop does not show up, i tried to run one key recovery it does not recognize the recovery partitions. I trued to boot from usb for windows 8 installation but it does not boot from USB. Seems like a problem service center says they will charge for installing windows again.

Problems with 8.1 update
on June 26, 2014
Posted by: Curry
Machine was purchased August of 2013. We have had some unusual problems installing updates. The latest problem was when we updated to 8.1, we lost the wireless connection. Support said that it was not a hardware problem and that we would have to pay for Software Support. We wanted to have wireless working so we paid. We must have spent 2 to 3 hours with hardware support person before being switched to software. At least 3 to 4 hours were spent with the software person. We got an intermittent signal BUT not a good solid continuous connection. I did research on the internet and found that I had to do a manual install on the Broadcom 802.1 driver. I had to go to device manager, down to Broadcom, think a right click and manual install from system. Two drivers show up: one is Broadcom's & the other is Microsoft. Choose the Broadcom driver and things are golden; think the 8.1 chooses the Microsoft driver and you loose reliability for wireless or have no connectivity!

Sound died... Cannot recover
on January 1, 2015

Purchased in 2013 and overall have had few issues- I love the "all in one" concept and screen size... However, a month ago- the sound just stopped working which is a significant issue for me since I use the machine for distance education and need to attend lecture on line. This seems to be a common issue since there are numerous user forums for resolution. However, it would appear that the frustration level in these forums is about as huge as mine! Nothing seems to work... Obviously, the company must be aware- how about a little support out here for those of us who absolutley need our sound?

Just over a year now and still not one problem. Fast and the touch screen is responsive and does justice to Windows 8
